The Gods of Gotham  (English, Hardcover, Faye Lyndsay)

Somehow, the word 'Gotham' brings Batman to my mind, although I know that even for the comics, New York had acted as the template for the place where Bruce Wayne loses his parents, grows up sharing a love-hate relationship with the place, discovers a way to redeem himself in his own eyes, and condemns himself to loneliness for ever. Question: why I am going "Batty" (please forgive the pun) while I should be carefully describing the strengths & weaknesses of a 'period novel'? Because, strip aw...
