Golwalkar's We Or Our Nationhood Defined: A Critique With The Full Text Of The Book (Paperback) Price: Rs.150

We are witnessing a concerted attempt by the RSS to establish MS?Golwalkar as the ?prophet of a resurgent India,? ?a saint,? ?the best son of Bharat mata,? and the ?biggest gift to Hindu society in the 20th Century,?... This inspite of the fact that Golwalkar, throughout his life, remained committed to the concept of Hindutva which meant an inherent faith in Casteism, Racism and Imperialism. He stood for the establishment of a Hindu rashtra, or nation, where minorities like Muslims and Christians could exist only as second class citizens.

This book attempts to put across actual facts about Golwalkar?s life and beliefs in the light of his original writings, publications of the RSS, documents available in its archives and many other RSS documents the writer collected over the last 35 years from different parts of the country, especially the original text of his book We or Our Nationhood Defined (1939) which is being fully reproduced in this book. It is the most important text in order to understand the RSS? concept of Hindu state, and has not been available to the public after 1947.

Illeterate at best!!

The views expressed here are at best of an Outsiders about Culture, history of Hindu and Brahminism, Its interesting to see that People who don't understand meaning of Brahminism, Castesim its concept are commenting and linking un related things. I am not a supporter of RSS and MS Golwalkar but I realized that there are some lies confidentally spoken here which must be argued and not very much surprised that no one refuted them also. Because that's what Hindus do ...they don't care.
a) MS Golwalkar didn't write this book,Sawarkar did and it was Rashtra Mimamsa

a) MS Golwalkar didn't write this book,Sawarkar did and it was Rashtra Mimamsa
b) Golwalkar was a savarkar sympathizer and he did mention Rashtra Mimamsa in the book.
c) Yes Golwalkar was anti muslim
b) RSS is not Anti Muslim and never was. They just don't respond to any allegation as there idea is to keep walking
c) Brahmin means educated, knowledgeable Sanskrit was the only script which existed thus one who studied could study only in Sanskrit so became a Brahmin....so its not the other way raound that Sanskrit limited to Brahmins only
d) Castesim was never promoted by MS Golwalkar but he strongly beleievd that Hindus cannot grow till they shun castesim and he said that Castesim should go Lock Stock n Barrel
e) Caste system is not based on birth but on basis of individual's capability but yes it got distorted
f) So called Hindus never called themselves Hindus its only outsider who calls aborigins Hindus
e) There is nothing like Aryans and Daravidians its part of propaganda to which no proof exists scientifically it has been proven that both share same DNAs

I have read the book, It should be deplored but read to understand history of Independent India.
I will not give my complete name otherwise you would take inferences

excellent anlysis of the book with full text

the book discusses key concepts proposed by Golwalkar and how it shaped the worldview of the sangh parivar. full text of the original book is included as scanned from a 1939 edition, so readers can form their own opinion. It is a must read for anyone interested in contemporary India as well as those who want to counter the hateful and exclusivist ideology being propagated by some groups. golwalkar proposes an idea of Aryan racial superiority, that all non Hindus are foreigners and not to be trusted. It is a must read for anyone interested in contemporary India as well as those who want to counter the hateful and exclusivist ideology being propagated by some groups. golwalkar proposes an idea of Aryan racial superiority, that all non Hindus are foreigners and not to be trusted. Religion in fact is made to be a condition for nationality. Even Loknayak MS Anney, a congressman but a sympathizer, who who wrote foreword to We, Our Nationhood Defined, could not swallow this idea.
Moreover the Author has quoted extensively from his other works and speeches, particularly his "Bunch of Thoughts" so that the thinking of Golwalkar, the 2nd chief of RSS is clearly diplayed. A must read !

Excellent Read

This book is a must read for everybody. It clearly depicts the impact of ideology put forward in present India.
It shows the approach of leaders of past was divided and bent on extreme sides. This is a great document to understand the caste system and very reason of hatred between them. It provides an angle of socioeconomic perspective of upper cast Hindu. It also states very much ground of Indian Culture.
