Description

Gone Girl is a thriller novel that was published in 2012 and made it to the New York Best Seller list. The story revolves around Nick and Amy Dunne, a couple who has been having a very difficult marriage. Half the book is narrated in first person by both Nick and Amy.

Summary of the Book

In Gone Girl, the reader will find that the narration alternates between Nick and Amy for the first half of the story. While Amy makes herself seem like she is very easy to live with, Nick describes her as anti-social and stubborn. When Nick loses his job, the couple relocate to North Carthage, Missouri. Amy goes missing on their fifth anniversary and Nick is made the prime suspect. However, Amy is actually hiding and Nick realizes that he is being framed.

Gripping till the end!!

"Always have a backup plan to the backup plan". This book keeps you in its hold right from the beginning, at times appearing dark, satiric but never unrealistic. Its interesting to see how the readers perception of the husband Nick's character changes from the beginning throughout the novel. Even more dramatic is Amy's character. The author doesn't stop building up momentum till the very end of the novel, raising the bar everytime you think the story has reached its summit. You can be assured...

1. I got it for 83 rupees during Diwali Sale of 2019 from seller TrueComRetail. I had applied combo offer and bank offer.
2. Delivery took time but was delivered before expected. As it was Diwali time, it can be excused.
3. Book is of small size. Smaller than most novels. If you have Harry Potter, then for reference, it's smaller than that. Pages are good enough but not of high quality. Book seemed genuine though, not a copy. Printing though is very small. Don't get me wrong - it's readable b...

I have read her every novel and Gone Girl is the best one . Gillian Flynn is a psychology Major and writes psychological thrillers so brilliantly . Highly recommended.
About novel
1. You will love to know how psycos think.

Gone Girl is not the typical thriller...she has a very different style from that of Dan Brown or Sidney Sheldon,,and you will be disappointed if you expected that..The plot is narrated as an account of first person and it takes a little time for the plot to develop..but once you submerge into it.there is no coming back!! Good build up leading nowhere..

Fast paced and eventful novel with an astonishing 'interval' twist but looses the track towards the end.. Wasn't much impressed by the narrative style but a good read nonetheless.. Watch out for the twist..

Very well written and gripping story. I thought of reading the book before watching the movie. But this book is much far thrilling and better in my opinion. I wish no one on earth goes through such a phase as the male lead goes in this book ..lol
