Graeme Goes Home is a beautifully written and beautifully illustrated story which helps children (of all ages) to understand what death is. This is the story of little Rosie trying desperately to work out where her best friend Graeme has gone. Grown ups said he died, but what does that really mean? When a child loses a parent, grandparent, school friend or their beloved pets, it is extremely difficult for the adults involved to explain death in a way that does not make the child frightened or traumatized, especially if the adult is grieving too. It is a subject that many adults feel uncomfortable talking to their children about. This book touches on the cycle of life in a way that will make sense to a child, leaving them feeling relieved and informed.
