Ruskin Bond is a popular writer of British origin.

He has also penned Ghost Stories from the Raj, A Town Called Dehra, The Adventures of Rusty, and The Parrot Who Wouldn't Talk.

He is of British descent and was born in 1934 in India. He studied at Shimla and won many writing competitions at school. When he went to London after his schooling, he began penning his first novel. He has been the recipient of prestigious awards like the Padma Shri and the Sahitya Akademi Award. He played an important role in shaping children's literature in India.
