“Do you like green eggs and ham?” asks Sam-I-am in this Beginner Book by Dr. Seuss. In a house or with a mouse? In a boat or with a goat? On a train or in a tree? Sam keeps asking persistently. With unmistakable characters and signature rhymes, Dr. Seuss’s beloved favorite has cemented its place as a children’s classic. In this most famous of cumulative tales, the list of places to enjoy green eggs and ham, and friends to enjoy them with, gets longer and longer. Follow Sam-I-am as he insists that this unusual treat is indeed a delectable snack to be savored everywhere and in every way.
Originally created by Dr. Seuss, Beginner Books encourage children to read all by themselves, with simple words and illustrations that give clues to their meaning.

Dr. Seuss was born Theodor Geisel in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2, 1904. After attending Dartmouth College and Oxford University, he began a career in advertising. His advertising cartoons, featuring Quick, Henry, the Flit!, appeared in several leading American magazines. Dr. Seuss's first children's book, And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street, hit the market in 1937, and the world of children's literature was changed forever! In 1957, Seuss's The Cat in the Hat became the prototype for one of Random House's best- selling series, Beginner Books. This popular series combined engaging stories with outrageous illustrations and playful sounds to teach basic reading skills. Brilliant, playful, and always respectful of children, Dr. Seuss charmed his way into the consciousness of four generations of youngsters and parents. In the process, he helped kids learn to read.
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1984 and three Academy Awards, Seuss was the author and illustrator of 44 children's books, some of which have been made into audiocassettes, animated television specials, and videos for children of all ages. Even after his death in 1991, Dr. Seuss continues to be the best-selling author of children's books in the world.

Decision-making for lil people!Read this book to my babies (2 and 5) who like all other babies, fuss about food n clothes n attempting the unknown. Some make up their minds that vegetables are tasteless (!) Some don't want to climb the jungle-jim so they won't look foolish if they fall. This book encourages them to try out new stuff. It replaces doubt with wonder!

Amazing workThis book has captured the imagination of my six year old and I never thought I will be able to buy Dr. Seuss books at such reasonable prices. Its a simple rhyming story and my daughter loves to sing it all day long now. Plus whenever she does not want to eat something I remind her of the Sam-I-am and tell her how he tried green eggs and ham and loved it and that she may too. She goes could you would you on the chair and makes up her own sentences. We laugh and she resumes eating. Its a great book. Thanks FlipKart.com for such quick and efficient delivery. I intend to purchase and build the e… (Expand)

One of the best Dr. Seuss booksIf I were to compile a top ten of Dr. Seuss work's this one would be right on top. Very funny use of words and rhymes and a simple story line that captivates young children. If you are reading this one to your little one, I'd also suggest you show them the videos of this book available online in Youtube. My son (3 years old) loves this book. I too think its a great book
