Madhu Vottery was born in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. She studied architecture at the Government College of Architecture, Lucknow, and architectural conservation at SPA, Delhi. She briefly worked with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage in Bangalore. A practicing architect, she is also involved in documenting the historic structures of Hyderabad.

Over the two years that I have been in Hyderabad, I have been pleasantly surprised on numerous occasions by the many quaint buildings that Hyderabadis wrap their lives around. My delight knew no bounds when I heard that there was a book about the old buildings of Hyderabad. Ms. Vottery’s book is a much needed catalogue of the rich architectural history of Hyderabad. Book on Hyderabad Heritage

A wonderful book for the people who love to explore the city on their own. Pick up any part of the city, open the book, co-relate it with the map and you are your own guide. The book has almost 20 heritage walk/maps for different parts of the city which are rich in natural and built heritage.

gud for those who want to know heritage

I have enjoyed this book, best part of this book is way author has divided heritage monuments in different parts so that one can visit all nearby heritage monuments in one walk, also guided through map which help us to organize and plan our walk.

only thing I don't like is map, its size and text is very small and not readable.
