Alexandra Jean Sanford is expecting to start a new life when traveling to Chicago, the place where her parents were unexpectedly murdered thirteen years ago, a crisis that follows her years to come. Having been raised by her aunt and uncle in London, she had held a sheltered life. Now a young woman, she is prepared to initiate her independence. Upon arriving in Chicago, however, her independence becomes second to her life.
