Halo 4 (Collector's Edition)  (for Xbox 360)

The Xbox 360 and its predecessor have been primarily responsible for revolutionizing the gaming industry. The launch of the Xbox was a major success thanks largely to Halo, the first in the series of the highly successful First-person shooter franchise. Though the game is called Halo 4, it is the first installment in the new trilogy of the series. The success of the game has made the developers and publishers, namely 343 Industries and Microsoft Studios to kick-start the franchise with a new trilogy.

The story of Halo 4 LE continues to follow the Cybernetic infused Super Soldier Master Chief in his fight against the covenant and other forces out to destroy humanity. The game saw a worldwide release on the sixth of November 2012 and has its storyline set four years after the events of Halo 3. The cybernetically enhanced Master Chief is the character that you control and use to fulfill your assigned missions.

Halo 4 is mainly set on a Forerunner planet called Requiem. This used to be a prison planet used to incarcerate Didact, an ancient Forerunner who has disdain for humanity and wishes to convert them to serve as his army and take over Earth to set up his army base. Master Chief encounters both the Covenant and the Prometheans on Requiem and thus must fight his way through the planet’s terrain to get to the source of all the trouble. Master Chief is accompanied all the way by Cortana, who is a highly advanced Artificial Intelligence.

Halo 4 is a Shooter game with a primarily First-person outlook. The game shifts to third person when using big guns and entering vehicles. The third-person view persists when using certain Armor abilities as well. The players has a fully functional HUD much like in the previous versions of the game which shows Real-time information about the surroundings and the shielding of the player. The HUD also displays objectives and has a motion tracker to detect enemies nearby.

This version of Halo also sees the return of the Covenant as one of the Foes the player can face.the new foe included in this game is the Prometheans who are the warriors of the Forerunners. The Forerunners are an ancient race of sentient beings with a high intelligence level who ascended the ranks of evolution to a point where they reached the pinnacle of their civilization, only to be wiped out by a primitive race of sentient parasites called The Flood that fed on only sentient beings, with basic intelligence. 

The Prometheans seen in the game have variants and ranks to their order. Some of the kinds, like Knights are leaders of groups or squads and are some of the deadliest of the forces. The prometheans are mainly a kind of AI made for combat. Crawlers are a second class of fighters that are mainly found in groups or large packs. Watchers are hovering fighters deployed by Knights that support and heal all Promethean units near it.

The game also features updated versions of the UNSC weapons and Covenant covenants as well. There is also a host of new Promethean or Forerunner weaponry. Halo Reach’s armor abilities see a come back in Halo 4 and have been ported onto the game seamlessly. Active camouflage, hologram and Jetpack are some of the new abilities that the player can use. The game features a strong single player campaign mode and also has Multiplayer modes with co-op play options. The game Halo 4 for the Xbox 360 has a PEGI rating of 16.
