Summary of the Book

Harry Potter has had a tough summer. He’s been locked up in his room again, and his aunt and uncle seem to want him to stay there forever. They absolutely don’t want him to return to school. However, Harry wants nothing more than to return to his beloved school. The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is the greatest institution of magical education in the land and every Witch and Wizard deserves the best education. However, perhaps Harry should stay back and not return to school this year. He receives a strange warning from a house-elf who definitely seems to think so. But he returns anyway, only to discover that a dark and ancient creature is on the loose. It has been released from the Chamber of Secrets, a secret room built into the school by Salazar Slytherin, one of the founders. The creature is hell bent on killing muggle-born Wizards, and only the heir of Slytherin can control it. However, thousands of years have passed since Slytherin’s death and no one knows who the heir is. Their only clue is that the heir, just like Salazar himself, can speak Parseltongue, the language of snakes. Unfortunately for Harry, he’s the only one at school who seems to be able to do just that.
