Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (English) (Paperback) Price: Rs.509

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is J.K Rowling’s third novel in the Harry Potter series, which was published on the 8th of July, 1999. For Harry, the day begins with the grim news that a dangerous prisoner has escaped.

Summary Of The Book

On the eve of his thirteenth birthday, Harry learns that the escaped criminal Sirius Black is after him. The news of the escape of Black from Azkaban, the wizard prison, creates a scare in Hogwarts, the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Also, on his way to school, Harry had seen a huge scary black dog, which is considered inauspicious in the world of magic. Professor Trelawney, the Professor of Divination, interprets the sighting of the dog as a prediction of Harry’s imminent death.

As the prisoner Black makes attacks aimed at Harry, his friends learn some secrets about the black dog. There are more twists and turns to the story, as Harry and his friends learn more about Black and are embroiled in yet another adventure at Hogwarts.

J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter series of novels are popular among the new generation and have been read by millions. Though her stories are full of fantasy, magic, and imaginary creatures, her main character Harry is portrayed as a simple student who has friends and enemies alike. The book has received glowing reviews from leading critics, newspapers, and magazines.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban has won many awards. Some of them are, the 1999 Whitbread Book of the Year for children's books, the 1999 Bram Stoker Award for Best Story for the Young, and the 2000 Locus Award for Best Fantasy Novel. It was also awarded the Nestle Smarties Book Prize Gold Medal for children aged 9 to11. Many Harry Potter books have been made into movies.

This book made me a Potterhead. Simply brilliant.

This book truly marks the beginning of a person becoming a potterhead. (Philosopher's stone and chamber of secrets are nice too, but this book motivates the reader not to put it down until it is finished.)

The book starts with a funny scene, it is hilarious. ( I am really happy for what happened to that woman, she was really mean to harry.) As the book progresses, some events happen that take me by surprise, especially where the ministry is involved. The antagonist of the story, Sirius Black makes very astonishing moves every now and then. Firstly, his escape from the prison, then his walk...

Firstly, his escape from the prison, then his walking into the grounds of Hogwarts without even being detected by the Dementors, he is a really frightening villain. And then, Harry sees a death omen everywhere and has near fatal accidents (which would have resulted in his death) whenever he sees The Grim.

But the climax of the scene is something that turns everything upside down. For, it turns out that everything is not what it seems to be. Many people will dislike this book because 'He Who Must Not Be Named' also known as 'Voldemort' or the 'Dark Lord' doesn't make an appearance at all. I assure you, the book is extremely fast paced and the reader will cling to it and won't put it down unless they are through the final page.

Hats Off to this Masterpiece..............

Harry Potter means THE BOY of THE MAGIC WORLD.
I wasn't interested in Harry Potter at all and used to think its just another kiddish bullshit imaginative tale. But in my 12th when i was utterly bored i picked up Philosopher's stone and then i read whole of the series in 15 days.................
Reasons this book is not a common fairy tale:
1.Main character is just a normal boy neither too rich nor too poor.
2.He is not a superhero and most of the times he is helped out by another character.
3.Main villain is not killed by hero alone and is not killed in a single unbelievable fight at...

4.Most striking characteristic of the fantasy is that author's one line in 1st book will create havoc in some other book and vice versa. i.e.connections within story are awesome.
5.Whole of the story is flawless. Every event has a reason which is there somewhere in some page for sure.

Enthralled.

Boy am I glad to trust Flipkart with the old cover version of this Harry Potter book, when I had completely lost hope of ever laying my hands on the old covers!
Needless to say, Prisoner of Azkaban is one of the most intelligent books of the Harry Potter series. The surprises just never stop coming.
