Apt resources to start
This book is best if you want to get well started on Python. Typical o'Reilly style with meta cognitive techniques it helps to grasp faster.
Problem-solution approach gives you a sense of accomplishment and confidence.
This book has a bit of inclination to Linux based development, but that is alright - I don't think any serious programmer still is working on Windows ?

Python or List processor !
While the writer has a right to write in a way he chooses, it is my opinion that one cannot learn python from this book.
The only thing show is how to read a list and parse the contents, assign them to variables.
Will not recommend either to a beginner or somebody who wants an overview of complete python.

Quite good but not for pros
The book like all head first series is awesome indeed, but if u r a noob with inappreciable knowledge, this book is going to cover all the stuff u can do with python, but it is for overview only... U gotta purchase another one for brief content..

More about List
Being a beginner to Python language, I didn't find it very useful. I agree to above comment by "Ahmed Sajid". Author has mostly talked about List collection. It could have covered all the areas to make it useful from a beginner's perspective!

Right_For_Beginner
Book is designed in a way to understand Python very conceptually. Explained everything through diagrams. Automatically can imagine of real situation when you see those diagrams.

Crap Seller, delivered a used book
I ordered the book on 16th and got it 22nd. The seller BWIMPORTS delivered me a used book which had a few pages in reverse order as well as the binding of the book was torn. Highly recommended not to buy from this seller.
