well i read many books out there for this subject and this book came out on top . simple and very effective language with brilliant examples . this book is must have for every mechanical engineer much better than incropera, holman and pk nag .

Best Book on the subject

Best standard book I ever read. Let me fall in love with Heat and Mass Transfer. Far ahead of any Indian Author. Nice Coverage of all topics with all whys ? and how's ?clearly explained to extent that no doubt remains. Also ample solved problems, and exercise questions. At the end of Exercise you find Fundamental Of Engineering Exam Problems in MCQ form which are good for practice.. This book is used as Textbook for Heat Transfer in MIT also. Must buy..

great book for concepts

i ordered this book and got it with in 2 days.It was delivered in good condition.
As far as the content is concered it is one of the best books for the subject.Concepts are developed from scratch and explained in depth.It has many practical examples which makes the readers engaged.One has to go through the book regularly as this is not the kind of book which you can cover the day before the exam.The solution manual is also available for the bookback problems.

Excellent Text !!!

This is one of the best textbooks on HT . The language of the book is very lucid and the examples supporting the theoretical concepts are good and real life . A must buy if one wants to learn HT alone without any instructor !!!

Comprehensive text, but misses out on a few points

This book is a very comprehensive one covering heat transfer in detail. The section dealing with conduction is strikingly brilliant. Where this book fails is in the treatment of the chapter on "Internal forced convection", where all the points are scattered and not clear. Other than that, this is a fine text on the subject. But still, I would urge readers to get the other brilliant book on fundamentals of heat and mass transfer written by Frank P. Incropera, as it it more lucid and appropriat...

Just wow!

This is the best book to grab fundamentals of Heat Transfer. You don't need any basic understanding of the subject to read. If you are preparing for GATE & IES go for PK Nag solved examples ( but not for concept building ). Don't buy Incropera Dewitt because you need basic fundamentals to read it.
Every Wiley Publication books are written for professionals not for students.
