Here They Be Monsters

An accidental discovery of a horribly devastating weapon. A tempting promise of revenge made to a street-wise criminal for the accidental death of his father. A series of random, unexplainable murders. These seemingly isolated events bring together a tired lawyer turned private investigator, a grieving school teacher, a young FBI field agent and her mentor, and a patient recently escaped from a psychiatric hospital, in a struggle against an accelerating, corrupting evil. In a perfect world, everyone would receive exactly what they deserve, and no one need ask why God allows evil. Here They Be Monsters weaves through a less than perfect world, where innocence is no defense to tragedy, and where virtue is handicapped in the struggle against violence and malevolence. The characters realize, along with the reader, that the real monsters are all around us, and perhaps even deep inside and within us.
