Heroes of Olympus: The Son of Neptune (Paperback)

The SECOND title in this number one, bestselling spin-off series from Percy Jackson creator, Rick Riordan.

This crazy messed up world of gods and monsters is Percy Jackson's reality, which pretty much sucks for him.

Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, God of the Sea, has woken from a very deep sleep and come face to face with two snake-haired ladies who refuse to die.

But they're the least of his problems. Because Percy finds himself at a camp for half-bloods, which doesn't ring any bells for him. There's just one name he remembers from his past.Annabeth.

Only one thing is certain - Percy's questing days aren't over. He and fellow demigods Frank and Hazel must face the most important quest of all: the Prophecy of Seven. If they fail, it's not just their camp at risk. Percy's old life, the gods, and the entire world might be destroyed . . .

The Myth Master Delivers Yet Again!

SoN is just awesome! The plot, the characters, the suspense... everything is well done. But I miss Percy's first person narration, and his sarcasm has toned down a lot. Frank and Hazel are good supportive characters.

A warning for all fans: the end is a cliffhanger that will make you want to strangle Rick Riordan. Yes, waiting one whole year for the next book (The Mark of Athena) is extreme torture!!!

ITs Good, Could have been better..

Since everyone seems to be having very high expectations of this book as its coming after such a long time and has Percy in it, I would like to give some bad news. Its not that great as I thought Percy will make it. I missed the first person narration, and just waited for his part to come. Missed Grover terribly. He and Percy were so great. Not much humour either. -.-
But I do love the ending. Rick has got a way to keep people sticking for the next book to come! The Romans weren't much fun either(Surprise!) I miss em Greeks! :)

Land beyond the Gods

The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The Land beyond the Gods. The Son of Neptune ~Rick Riordan.Publishers Puffin. In this series Rick Riordan has opted for a third person narrative.Monsters are rising in land beyond the powers of Gods.Rick Riordan’s Hero’s are the demi-gods of the Roman camp. Open your mythology dictionary it is a must.Percy the son of Poseidon or Neptune as the Romans know him. Hazel the daughter of Pluto. And Frank Zhiang of Greek and Roman heritage with a bit of Chinese flavour to add the zing are the heroes of the quest. The myth of Phineas and Harpies are retold. If the legend of the one shoed Jason was used in the lost hero, the legend of Hera/Juno being carried over the Tiber is used here. The dainty, teenage Hunters of the camp-half blood find competition in the Amazons of the Roman mythology. They live, love and fight passionatelyLibri Sibylline is the guide for the quest. The Lars, the Argonauts, Terminus the Roman god of boundaries, Li-Jien the settlement of Roman soldiers in China giving rise to red haired Chinese, Sun Tzu’s art of war archived by the Hun dynasty all appear to make the book an interesting read. The greatest teaser is the prophecyWisdom’s daughter walks aloneThe mark of Athena burns through RomeHeralds the next prophecy the sneak peek into the next book the Mark of Athena, where all roads lead to Rome.

A must read for all dose hu havent read heroes of olypus series!

Even though it lacks first person narration of Percy, this book has widened the scope fr imagination by including Romans....its beautiful how Riordan manages to give all d correct facts about mythology even while weaving so immensely complicated a tale. The major drawback that i found in dis buk was dah i think percy was a bit sidetracked in d middle nd it felt lyk he was just an aid......i kinda miss percy's leadership in d quests. Buh d tale was so gripping....waiting for the next book is lyk torture...Marks of athena !
