These guys are the king of PJ's and genuinely love to eat...sorry make that live to eat. I am a big fan of the TV series which gives you the true street flavor of whichever part of India they are in. The food guide for the real India - the India that cares a lot for paisa vasool and not so much for hygiene.

Loved the series, love the book...keep eating guys!

Flipkart - You are amazing with your packing and delivery. No doubt about it.

HOMP - The cover is just great and the content is the real winner. But I am disappointed by the style and layout of the inner pages - The Presentation is a Zero. They don't match the NDTV GOOD TIMES channel style. The inner pages are just like any other novel. I am sure they were in a hurry to release the book.

They should have used some colour, good paper, food visuals from each shop, some travelling shots and so on. This book should have been more interesting. Now, It just look like yellow pages for some good Food places. I will use it only if I have to find out about a place where we get food but will never open it to just go through just for the love of it. Its boring text.

I'm sure people would not mind paying more if this would have been in colour and with more visuals as I mentioned above.

I will wait for HOMP Version 2 print with some colour and interesting visuals.

This book is basically the same thing seen in the TV travel/food log.

But as I have been trying very hard, without much success, to get a ready reference of Rocky's and Mayur's travels on the Net, this book comes comes as the perfect answer to my prayers.

Each town/city has only 2-3 places and the book is best suited for a domestic tourist, particularly one on a road trip.

My first impression is that the book is BIG. It covers 25 states and union territories which any hungry traveler would visit. The fact that two guys (and the crew of course) can eat @ so many places in just a few years is mind boggling. The book includes all the eateries one has seen in the HOMP episodes. Every state is further divided into major cities and the eateries description is followed by the verdict, rating, specialties, contact details and the prices. Some places even have the timings mentioned which can be extremely helpful. Famous filligrimage sites such as the Gaba Dabeli wala, Zain's in calicut or the Chilika Dhaba for its yummy yummy sea food get the "Rocky & Mayur rating of Excellence".
The book starts with a small "how to use" guide and probably lists the states in no particular order. Three quarters of the way into the book there are a few coloured pages containing pictures. There are even maps which places the eateries in the approximate location. Personally I would have loved more coloured pages and better maps but hey, the quality and content of the book places it among much pricier top travel/food books which don't even have such a deep understanding of what an Indian stomach wants.

From today this book holds a place in my collection of books to carry along where ever I travel. Permanently. "There's no place like India in this world, where strangers become family with just one smile."

As always had the traditional Flipkart service which is out of the world and got the book delivered before the said date.

The book..Its a great book if you want to travel the length and breadth of India and experience the local food offering of every state in India.
The book needs more places to be reviewed as there are many more places other than the said which offer nirvana for foodies like me.
The book in combination with MapmyIndia motoring atlas is the best way to get that "traveling enjoying local delicacies" feel inside you.
You might find there are better places for food that you now which are not in the book but then.. you cant expect Rocky and Mayur to sit down and eat at every dhaba and restaurant in India.
Overall a good book if you have less or no idea about what food to try out when visiting different places in India..
But please keep updating the edition and add more and more reviews every-time.
