I purchased this filter for my Canon EFS 18-200mm IS lens. I could mount the filter on the lens without any problems.
This one is the slim version. The glass is thin and for sure it is multicoated. I've been using this filter for quiet some time and so far I've not observed any detoriations in my images.
The only complain about this filter is its casing. Hoya comes up with a standard casing to fit filters upto 82 mm. This filter was supplied with same casing so at times when you store the filter and carry it in the default casing the edges (circular metal based periphery) hits the casing edges due to a gap of 0.5 cm across the circle.Hoya should have come up with dedicated casings.
I know that there are plenty of plane glass pieces sold as UV filters but they do not do any good except destroying your lens and images. Hoya is a must go for all DSLR users.
Delivery is hassle free....Appreciable.
You call it UV filter or Lens protector etc etc...it is a must have to avoid scratches and finger prints on your costly lens
It fits nicely to my Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS. I can leave it on the lens and there is no trouble in fixing the lens cap on it as well as my lens hood EW-78D.
This is truly a multicoated filter. Doesnt deteriorate quality and does the job well. Price is bit on the higher side, but still best for the price. Its pretty slim as well. But grooves could have been better, as I am having a hard time getting it off my lens now.
