HP 4540s ProBook (3rd Gen Ci5/8GB/ 500GB/ DOS)  (15.6 inch, Anodized Aluminum, 2.3 kg)

I've been using this laptop since 2 weeks for about 10-12 hrs a day. From my observation:

Pros:
* no heating & noise even after prolonged use;
* very good LCD(mat finish) screen, no shine & very less reflection;
* good keyboard; easy to type; (except the compressed arrow keys; but will get used to)
* touchpad is good ; doesn't obstruct typing (like in many cheap laptops)
* good & sturdy looks;
* good no. of ports;

Cons:
* the biggest dissatisfaction is the mentioned battery life(upto 7 hrs...

I bought it from flipkart one and half years ago(Dec-2012,price was: 42.5K)....
Right now using Windows 8 64-bit OS

Packaging was good while deliverd.

Pros:
1) Configuration is no doubt very good(All my required softwares run properly)
2) Battery back up is 3.5hr to 4hr till now(Games,videos will reduce this time to 2hr-2.5hr)
3) Webcam quality is nice
4) Speaker sound is also louder and clearer from other laptops
5) No problem of over-heating while constantly using more than 6-7 hours

I just brought this laptop HP 4540s ProBook and I can say it is value for money. Pretty sleek. Does not get heated up so fast. The fact that it comes with 16GB RAM with Quad core capacity is a great advantage for running multiple virtual box.

I roamed around whole of Pune to get a competitive price and also inquired with friends in Mumbai. There were no better choice as I was not getting the configuration I wanted, but flipkart madeit happen.

I feel its a great buy....

Ordered and received within 2 days. Packaging could have been better. Box in box but the bubble wrap was only on one side.

The laptop is great for my use. Installed Ubuntu 12.10 easily and have been using it heavily. Battery lasts for over 4 hours. I bought this to run virtual machines, so the 8GB RAM and 7200 rpm HDD is really helping. Hardly any noise. THe brushed aluminium looks fabuluous.

What could be better: nothing much - some small things. With the space for 15.6 in laptop, the keys...

2gb inbuilt graphics. I never expected.great speed.,best backup.. working backup for about 4hours.. the only problem is only 464 gb is shown out of 500gb ..I expected atleast 485gb.. speakers are superb.. everything is worth for the money we pay.. more than everything.. FLIPKART rocks!! they said delivery in 6 to 8 days.. but delivered in 4 days..

I bought this notebook from HP and i regret a lot.
I got a dead laptop in first place. after chasing for over a month I got a replacement.
this one had problems worst than previous one.
Its over 2 months that I am stuck with this bad piece of hardware.

HP has agreed for a refund.
HP dont have a faith in there of laptop.
How can consumer buy it.
