HP Dv6 - 6119tx Laptop

Hi Guyz,
I have being using this laptop for past 4 months & i think my review might help you to deicide if its the one ur looking for, i will divide my review in 3 parts:

Product Info:
Its a great machine with great features. I think out of 2 memory slots 1 is unused as it has 1x4GB RAM card so the other slot has to be free :-)

Pros
1. Superb build quality & sexy looks (Specialy the illuminated HP logo)
2. Latest Technology & Feature rich (Fingerprint reader, HD web cam, USB 3.0, Bluetooth 3.0 just to name a few)
3. Good battery backup, easily 3 hours & sometimes even 4 hours with just normal browsing.
4. RAM can be upgraded to 16GB, isn't that Koool ;-)
5. 640 GB HDD, thats a huge capacity.
6. Nicely spaced keyboard, easy to use with hot keys.
7. Superb Touchpad, next best to MAC.
8. Great HP support

Cons
1. Its heavy, believe me I sometimes regret for this, its the Only reason, but i wanted a 15.6", so no other option.
2. Keyboard feels little plasticky

Note: I got it for just 43K, obviously not from Flipkart ;-)

well,hp is hp,i must say ..d laptop is outstanding and have no issues fr last 6 months (ive purchsd it b4 6 mnths) .thankx to 1gb gc....Graphics acceleration is good,display is better,battery life is overall good, and good thng is its sound rckx lyk hell....if we saz hp is king of cmputers,it is.....nd service of flipkart, it rockx....very punctual.

I got this one in Diwali...Must say after 2 years of using Lenovo and 4 years of Dell , this one came as a surprise choice for me but then when i started using this, I was too happy n proud of my choice..This model comes as the best of the lot in this price range..It gives all that Dell XPS Laptops have but are priced 5-6k more than this one..Also the sleek sexy look is awesome..Bronze metal look gives the edge look wise..Performance wise 4 gb RAM makes it a great experience all together and 640 GBs of HD is really too much capacity because all others in this range come with 500 GBs HD...So tht again a advantage..Also the features on the system are just great...High definition webcam of 2 MegaPixels is so clear that video calls seems like watching DVD Rip print movie.. :D..! Cool Sense technology is great as system itself guages if user isnt around for specified time..so thts a good feature..Windows 7 Premium is one hell of OS...thanks microsoft for tht..! 4 Speakers and beat audio is really of great quality--this is a new feature added to this series..bravo n thanks to HP for the same..Also one more tiny attraction is the HP logo on the back of the system which glows beautifully when using the lappy..its attractive..Also batter life is great than all other competitors..being 6 cell mine is running continously for 4 hours even while playing games or watching video..that I have not seen in anyother system as 6 cell battery drains in less than 2 hours with heavy usage in other laptops... All in all no hassles, issues or slowness to the system from last 1 and half month of use so thts like satisfaction multiplied....Thanks HP for making this modern masterpiece...

I was looking for performance laptop with in built all kinds of feature which would give a better experience in long run everyday environment.
Flipkart delivery packing is awesome(although I would not go into the detail). After comparing all other model of different brands, zeroed on this piece.Initially it looked same but gradually it started showing its real class be its well built body,island styled Keyboard,Attractive metallic look,light weight(compared to other lappy),HP True Vision Camera, Glow touch Pad with cool LED HD Display screen which I found best in this class.Beat surround HD audio system is also commendable as the speakers cancel out any amount of shrillness or even perform well in noise cancellation part.

Now on hardware front !!
Pros:
Screen Resolution of 1366x768 (Quite good).
With dedicated Radeon 6490M 1 GB DDR5 graphics card.
2nd Gen I5 processor.
4GB DDR3 RAM.
Bluetooth 3.0
640 GB Hard Disk(5400M).
HDMI Port.
Windows 7 Premium SP1.
Manageable webcam(better than its peers).
Its HP Cool Sense Technology(for cooling though it doesn't heat up even after heavy usage of more than 15 hours).
Good battery backup.
Nice HP logo BagPack.

Cons:
No unused slot for RAM up-gradation although RAM is expandable upto 16 GB.
Processor clock speed of Intel I5 is 2.3 GHz.
Sata HDD speed is bit on slower side(5400 RPM).
Mouse on touch pad is little bit clunky.
Little noisy multi-drive reader.
Limited Accessories.
Bit Pricey.

Overall a better and whole-sum option !

I bought this laptop from hp showroom.This is really good laptop.It has all nice features which you will find in other brand's high end models.I would like to point out few flaws.First my hard drive failed after 6 months of laptop purchase.But anyhow service engineer came and replaced it in 1 day. Because of this I lost lots of important data.Secondly I still cant play many of the games in my laptop despite it having very good configuration.Now this is the problem which I think I only face.Because nowhere I have met people who have complained in this regard about HP laptop. Overall its good laptop.Picture quality , sound quality and processing capability everything is good.I only regret one thing and that is I cant play any of the popular games like NFS,Warcraft,etc.It hangs up and can not start the game.I have contacted HP service people and they just fool me and say its software issue and they cant help me since warranty is only applicable for hardware problems.
