HP V-250 W 16 GB Pen Drive

W Speed : 10 MBPS on FAT and up to 15 MBPS on NTFS
R Speed : Up to 25 MBPS

I ordered this pendrive from here 5 days ago.. for praising flipkart, it came a day before i expected.. so well done.

now about the pendrive, it is quite small. for the cons, it's small. and that's all.

for the pros, here's the details..

it's got 15.1 gigs of memory. that's about 19 movies in total, or 3000 songs.
it's avg write speed is
21 MBps for a single file
15 MBps for multiple large files.

it's avg read speed is
5 MBps for one file
4.3 MBps for multiple

and despite much criticism about it's heating, it does warm up .. specifically, it warmed up when i was transferring 14 GB at once(completed in 14 mins). but it didn't sizzle. it kept it's calm. And if you're too worried, copy the data you require, eject the drive and then use the data. and when done, you can copy it back to the pendrive.

as for performance, it's FAST for a 16 gig pendrive. very fast compared to the competition. it's quite responsive too. i use windows 7, and the device was discovered within 8 seconds. later it just flashed on my screen in less than 3 seconds.

for the build, it's small, ergo easy to lose. so clip it on a keychain or something, to keep it in sight.

and finally about the metal body, it is conductive so keep your laptop/PC well wired, if you don't like getting zapped.

in conclusion, it's an HP pendrive, so you can be carefree. but never careless. even a rock breaks in a careless person's hands.

Thanks Flipkart for making available this beautiful pen drive. It looks sturdy, feels good and the key ring is really useful.

But I feel it generates a fair amount of heat. I copied 2 nos of 2 GB files to local hdd and after completion, i could feel the heat on the cover. I dont know if it is normal and because of the metallic body i felt it. My earlier pen drives were all plastic.

Read speed is 4.4 MB/sec for multiple files of mixed size and 5.5 MB for a single file of 6.5 GB.

So, from performance I will give rating of 2 star, and from build quality, it has to be at least 4 star.

pros:
Excellently build (especially made of steel)
very durable..gud quality

Trustable HP brand..(Hp company :well known pc vendor)
very tiny ..can be easily hanged anywhere because of a hook (easy to carry)
system recognises this usb device very fast(loads fast)
2 year warranty and transit insurance

cons:
only 14.9gb of space supported
gets heated up if u keep connected more than 20mins..
catches fingerprint easily on the polished surface.
can be lost easily because of small size
performance not so impressive but average ...For copying a 4.4gb movie file ..avg speed:10.5mb/sec(apprx) max speed ntfs(20-25mb/s)..

Still i gave 5 stars rating bcz of an impressive design..
I hope many would find this product useful...
