Wow Windows Phone,Ready to seamless experience

Windows Phone 8 is best mobile OS, no second thought in that..
Why.....?
1. Fluid and Seamless experience.
2. Best integration of social networks (Facebook, twitter).
3. IE10 (Common don't think abt old experience of IE,try once now IE10).
4. Camera apps(Apps integration into cam).
5. Most of the information right on ur home Screen.
6. Backup and Sync (Apps, Contacts, Photos, Videos, SMS).
7. I prefer Windows over Android(My first smartphone was Android).

Now Compare 8X and Lumia 920:

Display: :

920 : 332 PPI, Supper sensitive touch screen, Clear black tech, Past refreshing rate
8X : 341 PPI.
There is not much difference b/w PPI ,but lumia sports additional futures.

Winner : Lumia 920.

Design & Build : :
920 : Unibody polycarbonate, 70.8x130.3x10.7mm, Weight 185 g
8X : Unibody Polycarbonate, Size 66.2x132.35x10.12 mm , Weight 130 g

Except weight both are smiler in size but 8X sports more curved edges,we fell more thinner than 920

Winner : 8X(thinner edge)

Storage :
920 :1gb RAM, 32gb version
8X : 1gb RAM, 8gb ,16gb versions

Both are doesn't have expandability.

Winner : 920

Camera :
920 : 8.7MP with OIS(nokia Pureview camera)
8x : 8MP
Here 920 has great capabilities like, taking low light images, more stable videos, but day light image colors are good in 8x(but nokia working on s/w update to fix the issue).

Winner : 920

S/w and Apps :
Both are running on WP8 but nokia lumia series sports with more exclusive apps like city lens, nokia transit, nokia drive and more.

Winner : 920

Then think yourself and go for which one u like but i suggest lumia over 8X,Both are great phones no doubt in that.

2 critical drawbacks at this price.

I am using Lumia 800 and it is great phone. WP OS is absolutely stunning and many limitations and drawbacks of WP 7.5 are now rectified in WP 8 so I guarantee that user experience on this and any other WP 8 device is going to be top notch!

HOWEVER, particularly about HTC 8X, I wouldn't have pointed towards 2 critical drawbacks mentioned below if it was mid range phone but at 35K I certainly don't expect it.

1) 16 GB non expandable memory out of which ~13 GB is available to users. My phone has same amount of memory however user available is 14 GB (as WP 7.5 OS takes bit less memory) and st...

HOWEVER, particularly about HTC 8X, I wouldn't have pointed towards 2 critical drawbacks mentioned below if it was mid range phone but at 35K I certainly don't expect it.

1) 16 GB non expandable memory out of which ~13 GB is available to users. My phone has same amount of memory however user available is 14 GB (as WP 7.5 OS takes bit less memory) and still only 2 GB is left after having my favorite app, games and music. I agree my music collection on phone is large than what people normally have but its still a issue. HTC 8X is WP 8 phone and WP 8 apps and games are bigger in size, HD games for WP 8 will soon have gigs of size. Plus HD video shooting takes much more memory. So I am sure you will run out of memory if you install high quality games, apps, shoot or store HD videos. Very less memory will remain on phone for music especially if you are audiophile, you will be disappointed. Beats Audio will be useless in this case or you will have to constantly manage apps, games and videos to free up memory.
I certainly won't expect this hassle after paying 35K. Would you?

2) Not a single dedicated navigation app. I am very used to Nokia drive on my phone. I have downloaded whole Mumbai and rest of Maharashtra maps on my phone (just 111 MB in size on WP 7.5) and experience of truly offline and voice guided navigation system is truly awesome! I never though I would find navigation utility this much useful that every time I have to look for new place, destination, it does it flawlessly. Those who have used GPS drive navigation on phone (especially offline) will agree to this.
Again one would ready to compromise this feature if it was mid range phone but wait. At 35K, I at least expect proper navigation system let alone offline and voice guided. There was news that Nokia drive will be available on all WP 8 but it don't seem to be happening after all.

I was thinking of buying this phone as Nokia is constantly delaying WP 8 launch but after research I came across these points which at least matter to me. I am ready to wait more for Nokia. And good news. I am certain that both Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 don't have these limitations. Proper navigation suite is available on these phones along with many other location services which I found useful on Lumia 800. And 920 has 32 GB internal memory and 820 has 8 GB internal but 32 GB expandable memory so that one can at least store all music and videos on card.

Nonetheless, WP OS experience is just so convenient and UI is very neat and clean with great user experience!

So finally bought the HTC Windows Phone 8X .... a Happy Camper !!

I had been using a HTC Radar since December 2011 and had been planning to buy a WP8 device since WP8 was announced in June itself. I was very happy with my Radar....a really brilliant phone on its own but this time wanted to get a Lumia because of all the exclusive apps( Nokia Music, Nokia Drive, City lens etc).
My heart was set on the Lumia 920 due to the Pureview Camera, PureMotion HD+ screen, and all the Nokia apps but the 8X with its absolutely brilliant design and beats audio always kept creeping up in my mind. With Nokia constantly delaying the 920 launch in india I decided to check ou...

My heart was set on the Lumia 920 due to the Pureview Camera, PureMotion HD+ screen, and all the Nokia apps but the 8X with its absolutely brilliant design and beats audio always kept creeping up in my mind. With Nokia constantly delaying the 920 launch in india I decided to check out the 8X in the flesh but couldnt find it anywhere. Finally I saw it displayed at the croma at CP and it was love at first sight.... pictures do not do this phone justice..it is simply STUNNING.......so I decided to take the plunge and buy it and I am very happy with it....I bought the phone in Blue and IMO the blue is way sexier than the Black.

PROS-
*The Design- it looks breathtaking in blue. The matte soft touch finish of the polycarbonate gives it a very smart look and makes it very easy to grip. This is one of the best phones i have ever experienced in terms of feel in the hand. You have got to hold it to know what I am talking about.

*The screen- the HD screen with a whopping 342 ppi looks gorgeous. It is super clear and even the smallest of fonts can be seen clearly. Watching Hd content on this screen is an absolute pleasure.

*Beats Audio plus the Inbuilt Amp- This is definately not a gimmick. Beats Audio plus the Amp give you spectacular audio quality. I use Klipsch Image S4s and the audio quality through the 8X is the best i have ever heard- loud, clear, absolutely no distortion. Brilliant. I cannot stress how good the sound quality is.

*Camera- the Front facing camera is the best I have seem in a smartphone. Really manages to capture much more field of view as compared to the FFC in my mom's I-Phone 4S. The back camera is also very good in daylight conditions- producing sharp, clear pics but under low light the pictures turn out to be noisy and grainy. But for daylight pics the camera is really good and also the shutter speed is incredibly fast.

*Windows 8- fast, fluid, beautiful. Most of the kinks and problems with WP7.5 have been sorted out.Rooms is a great feature to have the new customizable start screen and the new locksreen really goes a long way in making the phone your own identity. And now with the dual core qualcomm S4 krait processor, the phone literally flies- no lags, no stutters.

CONS :

*Memory- The non expandable 16gb memory is not a deal breaker but as the 920 gives you 32 gb of inbuilt non expandable memory and the Ativ S also supports a MicroSd card, this is something to keep in Mind. Out of the 16 gb only about 12gb is accessible to the end user and thus space can and will be a problem. With Beats Audio and the brilliant sound quality I seriously do not understand why HTC limited the memory to only 16gb.

*Nokia Drive- Drive is the only maap really missed as HTC seems to have removed the Locations app frm 8X and thus voice guided navigation is really missed.

*Camera- yes as much as the camera shines in daylight conditions , its no match to the 920's camera in lowlight conditions due to the OIS that the 920 sports. Also as another reviewer pointed out sometimes the white balance does seem to be a bit off and images do get a little yellow tint. But

RELATIVE TO THE 920:
-yes it does not have nokia exclusive apps like Nokia Drive, Music , City Lens and so on the only ap as I said I really miss is drive.Nokia Music actually sucks as it provides you with songs at 32kbps which sound absolutely mediocre with the beats audio turned on. Wikitude is a brilliant alternative to City Lens and Tune In to mix radio ( although the ability to store radio mixes offline is pretty cool and is a plus fr the 920).
- The 920 does have a better camera esp at lowlight photography , a supposedly better super sensitive screen and more memory but the 8X has the better front camera, beats audio, is lighter and IMO a better design than 920.
The 920 is a brilliant phone and so is the 8X- just depends on which one suits your needs the most. You cant go wrong with either one of them.

*Also for those of you concerned about the rebooting issues of the 8X, Microsoft has issued an update to rectify the same and My phone got the update the very day I bought it over the air- the update also brings reply calls with text, mass select and SMS draft features.

Really Good

Bought a HTC phone from HTC store. Amongst the first ones. Just 2 days
Great phone in looks, design
Probably the best phone now.
Had choice between S3 and 8X, but preferred to risk for Windows 8.
Battery life , etc - yet to be proven

Ya its new OS but what it does is takes you ahead with great connectivity features, if you are connected on facebook, Linkedin, twitter, skype and even office mails and apps. It all integrates very nicely to one and that why probably this WP8 system does not names it as "CONTACTS" but 'PEOPLE", where you are connected, updated and also call !!...

A very good phone but if marketed well it can be an upmarket phone to carry in the same league as iphone or S3.

Windows Phone 8 on HTC 8X

First of all thanks to filpkart for a really good service and delivery time.
Now the phone???. It???s a really great phone solid build quality nice martial used and good color. Although it???s pretty easy to see the finger prints on the screen but overall looks beautiful. The setting up the phone is pretty easy and took about 2 mins to get it up and running.
Setting up the emails and facebook was very easy for me as I have been using windows phone from long time now and the process is same.

Setting up the emails and facebook was very easy for me as I have been using windows phone from long time now and the process is same.
Setting up credit card/debit card and PayPal was also very in wallet to use with NFC enabled devices and took me about 5 mins to do that and I was ready to TAP my phone to make payments.
Another big improvement I noticed was backup functionality. Now you can back up all your text messages, chat etc and I think it was long overdue. Some other minor changes in the settings and all.
Now the back camera???and frankly its bit disappointing???.some time pictures will not be in focus if you the camera key to click the picture but if tap on the screen the pictures comes out fine.
Low light pics were below average but normal light pictures comes out good if you tap on the screen. I think some firmware issue and HTC should fix it.
Sound on the phone is just amazing???especially if you have a Beats head phone. I tried a normal headphone also still it sounded really good (better than most of the phones/mp3 player out there).
I would say the phone is bit overpriced but hell if you are a windows user and like to listen to music on your phone go for it.
More update coming soon
