Hello Guys, Season Greeting's.
I have been doing a lot of comparison research on this phone and below are my views - many may not agree but most of them will find it useful.
HTC Desire HD Specs - Pretty much available all over internet (123 x 68 x 11.8 mm for 164 grams) but things to look at are and what is means to the use.
Pros:
* Amazing Android 2.2 aka Froyo
* HTC Sense UI3 - HTC's add on to Froyo with Friends Stream etc - Flexibility to customize your widgets unlike ios.
* 4.3 inches LCD display WVGA resolution (480×800) 16M colors - Amazing browsing , movie and gaming exp. NO
* 8MP cam with dual Led - Crisp pictures, HD video - 720p @30FPS
* Qualcomm 1Ghz 8255 QSD Snapdragon processor with 768 RAM - Super Fast beast will give better application performance and nil lag. - Superb Multitasking
* Free cloud services - it its a paid service in iphone
* Free tethering - ability to use your phone as a broadband modem or wifi hot spot - $20 in iphone per month
* Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA - Increadible wifi exp
* Best pro - Adobe Flash - 10.1 - iphone will never get this and without this your browsing exp will never have WOW level.
* Internal memory - 1.5GB 8GB micro SD card included (expandable)
* Dolby and SRS surround speakers
* Google Maps
Cons - obviously no phone can be perfect - i think its company's deliberate action to have a better upgrade in the forthcoming models, who knows lets get back to the cons.
* Li-Ion 1230 mAh talktime Up to 9 h 15 min (2G) / Up to 5 h 30 min (3G) - Rediculous - this could be such pain area. Just comparison with other phones. iphone 4 - Li-Po 1420mAh(Up to 14 h (2G) / Up to 7 h (3G)) - Which means you are more prone to go around the town with your charger - with heavy data user like me and 2 hrs call per day the phone will reach to death by eve. Big disppointment from HTC considering the screen size and auto updates like friend stream etc.
* No AMOLED screen - iphone is way ahead with its Retina display
* Android Market is not as updated or beefed up like apple app store - though this is not a con as androis is catching up in amazing pace.
* No HDMI output - disappointment for the price that we pay.
Final Verdict:
Minus the pathetic Batter and Avg display screen, HTC has a winner. This is a definite buy considering the pros like super fast processor, Adobe flash 10.2, Froyo and 8MP camera. Its surely gonna be a tough competitor to iphone 4 and i would say it definetely has the edge over iphone 4. Its okay to have an avg battery life - afterall its a compromise for the other amazing benefits. Since the battery can be replaced - HTC might consider releasing a better for their phones in future :)!!
Also on the release date - the HTC is trying to push off their existing HTC Desire stock with lower price before releasing HTC Desire HD - so its expected to be release this month(guess jan 10th) then it will be available in all leading mobile retailers and also through TATA dokomo. But the price in flipkart is the best buy in india right now - not sure about the warranty part.
Just go for this phone - you will not regret.

I had ordered the HTC Desire HD by pre-order through Flipkart and have recieved the device.
The Desire HD is the phone for those looking for good displays, interface and ANDROID. In my opinion this is the best android phone in the market right now.
Though those who travel a lot should stay away from this phone because its cons are battery life and weak external speaker.(the device can give an operational time of upto one day with medium use.)
Flipkart is offering this device for an awesome price tag.! their service is excellent.
Packaging and delivery are of international standards.
Those looking for this device should go for it.
My Rating 9/10.
I ordered this on 29th of December and it arrived on 31st evening. The service of Flipkart is prompt, no doubt about that. But apart from the gigantic screen the phone has nothing to boast about. The sound quality, the battery life everything about this phone is poor. If I in other room I can't even hear this phone ring, while my other LG phone ( cost me 1k) rings to scare me even if the TV is at its high volume. HTCSense.com doesn't work at all, GPS is more than pathetic. Battery used to get over after 12 - 15 hours of usage with a wifi/2G on all the time but with 3G my phone switches of in about 6 - 8 hours. I am really pissed of this phone and trying to sell it and get something cheaper and better.
Hi All,
I have ordered this phone via Flipkart & received it today by First Flight courier. Yet to check out all the features. I got the phone delivered on the 3rd business day.
I am happy that this piece is in Brown & not they typical black colour. I mean seriously guys, how many black slate like touch phones do you see in the market. The display is fantastic. More to come from me .. Wait for my review or go get your own hearts Desire...
Thank you flipkart for being the first one (as far as i know) to bring this cellphone into India.
The price is pretty reasonable too.
So, coming to the review.
It is more of a list of concerns about this phone that i came across during the endless hours of browsing ever since I've heard about this amazing piece of technology.
Please note that these are only minor issues and the features far outweigh these small errors.This is surely THE BEST cell phone that mankind has ever seen till date. (talk about melodrama !)
1.Battery life : a Li-Ion 1230 mAh seems pretty low flow for this gas guzzling SUV of the mobile industry and with no AMOLED screen, whose gonna save the power?
they say that a few cycles of charging does good to the overall battery, but maybe its just because you start to economise on your power use. but it is a compromise after all.
I would be very glad to have a higher power custom made battery to unleash the full potential of it all day.
2.Proximity sensor issues : for those who are new to to cellphone jargon, a proximity sensor is a device which automatically locks the touchscreen as you hold it to your ear to attend calls. They're saying that this is not working in the desire hd. but the latest reports of these go back to mid October and i hope they must have fixed it.
3.SLCD screen : HTC has switched from AMOLED to SLCD due to shortage apparently. Alhtough both are the latest screens of their respective types, AMOLED is a tad better than SLCD when it comes to the warmth of the not so bright images.
plus AMOLED saves power by turning off dark pixels.
4.No physical button for the camera : this might sound a little paranoid, but we are so used to having a button to click our pictures that takes a little getting used to.
5.Loud Speakers : this phone will disappoint all the public DJs out there.
Although the speakers have 'Dolby' 'SRS' and what not, still many proud owners are not really satisfied. or maybe its just because we are expecting too much out of this phone.
as i said before, these are only minor glitches but one should know what we are paying for.
besides there are features like the online ringer control, postural ring control ,htc sense UI3, zero lag gps navigation, an amazing web browser, friends stream, htc scenes and a lot more which more than make up for the above mentioned minor stains in this marvelous jewel.
Bottomline : A stunning cellphone with a very good cost/benefit ratio.
If you have any elegant high-end presents to give or to ask for then this comes pretty close to the ideal.
I know I'm going to do so........... :)
