Seraiously Awesome phone!

I did insane amount of research before zeroing on to purchase this mobile. Here is the abstract of my research! This phone has the highest desired features to cost ratio among all the higher end Smartphones. It has absolutely no drawbacks, unlike the Samsung galaxy counterparts - which suffer from the absence of flash for camera, low resolution front camera and of course the plastic back body. If you compare with HTC Desire S, for just a little extra price, a bigger screen and higher resolution camera can be got. That's what I thought before buying the mobile. If you compare with HTC Desire S, for just a little extra price, a bigger screen and higher resolution camera can be got. That's what I thought before buying the mobile. Now, let me describe the experience after buying it and using it continuously for 4-5 days.

The touch is pretty good and the screen is sufficiently bright. All the other features Gps, wireless tethering etc are funtioning as expected. When I bought this phone I had one specific target in mind i.e to be able to make Skype calls on 3G. Haven't tried the video calls yet (for the fear of 3G usage cost), but the voice calls so far have gone exceptionally well. Kudos to HTC Incredible S and Airtel 3G. Always thought that the only drawback possible with a touchscreen is the typing. But surprisingly, the 'touch typing' experience has been incredibly smooth. HTC widgets and the overall sense UI hasn't disappointed either. The 4'' screen is by no means cumbersome to carry and if you are not going to stuff the phone in an ungainly case it will not be trouble carrying it in your pocket.

The only flip side is that the battery needs recharging everyday. Well, I blame that more on Andorid OS than the phone itself.

Disadvantage (My own experience, I am using this phone since past 5 months)

Iknow you all know the advantages of this phone by many sites. But disadvantages are:-

1. If even a single drop of water falls on screen, the screen will stop working (not stop working but acting weirdly) until that single drop is removed.
2. When you snap a pic it will look awesome when you see that pic in mobile but quality goes down when you see that pic in laptop.
3. Android 2.2 is better than android 2.3.3 (my own experience). So dont update your mobile please.
4. HTC own preloaded navigation map is good and 3D but all the places is not mentioned and a bit slower than Google map.

5. Battery life is not more than 1 day(if internet is kept on).

Otherwise it is awesome phone with killer look. A friend of mine is having iPhone 4. I also compared it with iPhone 4(not in hardware but in software), it beats iPhone 4 in many cases like camera, processing speed, video display, camcorder and the best thing is HTC Sense.

Even Though this much disadvantages I'd give five star to this phone as nothing is perfect, but htis phone is almost flawless.

A nightmare from HTC

All say “S” stands for Super but I say it is Suffer. When I took this phone, I was amazed with its performance but when the problem came this become a big headache. A simple problem in Mic made me to shell out INR.7500/= as the Mic is in-built with Mother Board and for that problem I need to change the board. A horrible nightmare I already had and HTC is giving more big nightmare by delaying the service. Even after the promise of 5-10 days of servicing, they are still asking for excuses even after 20 days for a week more… More nightmare from HTC is the latest kits are having the same... ()

So HTC now stands “Hell To Customer” for me…

It now makes Sense!

After days of being confused and lost, as to what smart mobile device to buy, I decided to go for this one.

From the experience of using it for, about 2 weeks and a bit now, I can say that I am not disappointed. The phone is slightly larger than the usual smartphone, and feels solid in the hands. It performs well, scrolling and sliding is smooth, and the large 4 inch screen makes ebook reading, news feed reading, tying (especially with the landscape keyboard) very comfortable and enjoyable. Web browsing is smooth and the lag is not noticeable. Picture quality from the 8 MP camera is averag...

Picture quality from the 8 MP camera is average at best, and noisy in low light conditions. HTC Sense may be one great user interface, but that alone does not make this phone good.
The single core 1 GHz processor is optimum for this screen size and my usage. I use the phone, to make calls, send emails, twit, watch videos, record audio, tune my guitar, play some games (this handles 3D games smoothly as well), and as a study aid (dictionaries etc installed). The 1GB internal storage is large enough for most, with all these apps, I still have more than half of it left. Additionally you can move your apps to the SD card (an 8GB one was shipped with the phone). For some, this will be enough. The 750 odd mb ram is also enough, and with many applications open at a time, the phone does not hang or slow down.
As far as battery life is concerned, My device lasts for about 20 to 30 hours depending on the usage, which includes about 30-40 mins of music, 30 mins of video, 10 to 15 calls, 25 to 30 messages, GPRS on for about 3-4 hours, and games for 20-30 mins or so. Other activities include taking a few pics, sending and receiving a few emails, chatting on Gtalk and stuff.
I am happy with the battery life, although one always wants more juice...

To wind it up, I am a satisfied, and wont be changing my handset for quite some time now...

Excellent Phone

It's been about a week since I bought this Phone for my Wife. I have an HTC Desire and quite like it also.

At the time of purchase, my criteria was Android, 4" Touch Screen, Good Camera and a fast phone. I finally short-listed HTC Incredible S and Samsung Galaxy S Plus and then compared these two -
1. Android Version - Samsung Has Pre-installed Gingerbread however, HTC Incredible can also get updated to Gingerbread and it took about 20 minutes..

2. Display & Touch - Both phones almost same.

3. Processor & RAM

3. Processor & RAM
Samsung 1.4 GHz Processor, 512 MB RAM
HTC 1 GHz Processor, 768 MB RAM
I prefer RAM over the CPU Speed.

4. Camera
Samsung 5 MP (Main) 0.3 MP (Front) No LED Flash
HTC 8 MP (Main) 1.3 MP(Front) Duel LED Flash
HTC is a clear-cut winner in terms of Camera.

5. Battery Time - Almost Same for both the phones

6. Memory - Samsung has 8 GB Internal Memory while HTC has 1.1 GB Internal Memory + 8 GB SD Card. For my, internal memory is to be used for applications and games only. The rest can lie on Data Card which it should also so that you do not loose any data on SD Card when you reset your phone.

7. Price - Samsung 2,500 bucks cheaper than HTC.

Based on all above, I chose HTC Incredible S and after one week, I do no regret spending 2,500 more on it. It is a brilliant phone, excellent SPEED, excellent Display, amazing HTC Sense, Nice Touch and good looks.
No issues faced so far. Downloaded many games and applications and still it has more than 0.90 GB Free on internal storage.
