In a competitive price this phone seems good.
processor is & RAM is good enough to rum run various applications.
Adobe flash support. After buying 2 android mobiles(lg optimus me & hub) i came to conclusion that without powerful processor(min 1 Ghz)RAM(512mb)Internal memory(atleast 300 mb)buying android is waste of money.
I have held a few android phones, this is the first i own though. the features are awesome. no lags, no reboots..in short no issues. and for basic use, battery is good. no compatibility issues. i was scared to buy a outlying brand, but just take my word for it..if u are not just plain unlucky, you will thank me for this. Go buy it!
The best phone available in this price range.
Cons:
1. The look & feel is plastic(china mobile)
2. The 5MP cam is poor- feels like 2 Mp
3. The back cover comes off easily
4. Non availability of accessories in market
Pros:
Awesome when it comes to performance, the screen looks gorgeous.
Supports Flash
512 mb ram & 1.5 gb user accessible memory.
extendable up to 32 gb
3.8 inch touch screen & a really quick processor(1GHZ)
Important of all - ICS update, it works great
even though the update process is hectic, since there is no OTA. We have to manually do the update & it's really hectic & time consuming. But once updated, it works like a charm. I'm sorry Ginger Bread, ICS rocks.
Most of the phone which got the ICS updates have become slow & unresponsive, but this beast have have what it needs, it runs as if it's just been re-fueled. since Huawei hasn't changed much, you can have the real Android experience.
Result: ICS & Huawei rocks.
Go for it.. :)
I was looking for an upgrade from LG P500 and wanted a decent phone with 1 Gh processor and better GPU and internal memory. Was looking for a Snapdragon S2 or better. I found all those phones with above config above 17K from Sony or HTC or Samsung. Came across Huawei Ideos X5 Pro with same config costing less by 4-5K. Initially I was skeptical about the brand, but found a lot of good reviews from other forums and media. I was waiting to have a feel of the phone (hand-on), but none of the stores in B'lore had this phone. Finally decided to buy it from Flipkart (as usual, good service). This phone has quite a good number of developers on XDA. Now coming to review
Pros:
Very good screen, brightness and good color reproduction
Fast and snappy, never felt any lag. Plays all video format without freezing (used Moboplayer)
UI looks very nice and sleek, better than TouchWiz or MotoBlur (my opinion)
Very good battery life. I was surprised with battery backup. I getting 2-3 days with on-off on 3G data
Good music player, you will never need other players as this one comes with equalizer and sound quality is good
Cloud support
Cons:
Build quality is so-so
Average camera primary cam
No front facing camera is a huge let down
Earpiece is not so loud, especially on train journey, its hard to hear
Limited service centers and unknown service quality
Screen is a finger print magnet (resolved by adding screen protector)
I managed to put the screen protector of some Sony phone and the silicon cover of Lumia 700, which fits perfectly (ofcourse, need few holes to match with the device).
All in all, a great buy. Definitely recommended product
Official ICS is also released for the phone, which I'm yet to try.
Huawei Ascend G300-
Adreno 200GPU, Battery- Li-Ion 1350 mAh
Huawei Ideos X5 Pro-Adreno 205 gpu- its more advanced and powerful than Adreno 200,Battery- Li-Ion 1500 mAh-
Battery- One of the most important part of a smartphone. X5 Pro has a larger capacity battery and just a slightly smaller screen. So obviously it will get a much longer talktime compared to G300 which has a bigger screen with a weaker battery. And screen size does not matter if you have the same resolution, escpecially with a much more powerful GPU. You will be able to play most of the high end games on X5. G300 Will not support high end games and will lag and frame badly. X5 pro will also not slow down even if you put a set a 3d Live wallpaper. Whats the use of an IPS screen with a weaker GPU?. And X5 Pro display is really sharp with good viewing angles. Beacause of the better GPU X5pro will also be able to run 720p videos smoothly. It will also be able to run 1080p low bitrate videos.
All other feaures between are nearly identical. And trust me, the X5 pro looks much better , stylish and high end than G300. So Anil, do you now understand why the X5 pro is costlier than G300.
I personally am using Huawei X5. Bought it for Rs9250 from Flipkart. Physically there is no difference between X5 and X5 pro. The only differences- X5 does not have a radio. And the processor is clocked at 800Mhz. X5 comes with Android 2.2. I personally find X5 to be a much better deal. There's nothing that an X5 pro can do better than X5, since both share the same GPU and RAM and battery and high resolution screen.
I was initially using a screenguard on my X5 and used to carry it in my pocket with coins and keys. The screenguard was covered with scratches on day 1 itself. And it was making my phone look dirty and old. After a few days I finally removed the screenguard and carried the phone without any screenguard in my jeans pocket with coins and keys. When I later checked there was not a single scratch. Its been a month now, I've been carrying the phone everyday to office, there's not a single scratch on the screen. The phone looks elegant and new without the screenguard. What this means is that obviously the X5 has a good scratch resistant display which is not advertised anywhere. It also has 2GB of internal memory. Even though X5 comes with a 4 GB micro sd card, i bought an 8GB class 10 micro sd card for my phone. Class 10 cards have the highest data transfer speeds. My card is nearly full of data containing lots of high resolution pics, HD videos, songs and apps. And my phone doesn't skip a beat while browsing through the gallery. A lot of my friends have much costlier and high end phones. And they lag and slow down when browsing though gallery. So if u want the best out of ur phone, dont forget to get a Class 10 micro sd card. Both X5 and X5pro have much better hardware and features compared to a lot of phones in the price range of Rs 13k to 14k by big brands like Nokia, Samsung, LG, Sony and Motorola. They have some features that nowadays even some phones in the price range of 15-17k dont have - basic useful features like memory card support and a removable battery.
So be aware guys. Dont get tricked by the misleading marketing tricks of big brands. Pay extra attention to the actual specifications of the phone that ur planning to buy.
The phone is very good even after updating to Ice Cream Sandwich it gives descent performance. Great phone in this range!!. If...
