HUL Pureit Compact/Classic 14 L Water Purifier

i have been using this purifier for the past 3 months & i am fully satisfied with the quality of the water dispensed.

the municipal supply water in our area is awful - yellow colored and i didnt have the courage to taste it :P
and with a student's budget, most of the other purifiers were out of range. so i went for HUL pureit compact and i must say i am fully satisfied with it.
the filter is easy to install ( i did it myself), filters quickly some 15-20 minutes after you fill it and easy to clean.
no-nonsense filter : no electricity, no plumbing, nothing is required - just set it up, fill it & you have clean potable water.
in a family of four pepl, it is designed to last for some 6 mnths. once the cartridge runs out, a new set is available for some 350 bucks.

just one word of caution - though the manual mentions the capacity to be some 14 litres, only 3-5 litres that filters in the lower transparent chamber is "immediately' available for use. when you use it up, you need to fill it again.
those with larger requirements might go for the bigger variant k/a classic.

once again i will say that the water quality is excellent and the price is affordable.
and flipkart is offering it for a lower price than that in the market - wow :)

Pureit water purifier only filters soft water and not hard water.
Hard water can only be purified by reverse osmosis type filter.
which costs around 13K from HUL.
I had purchased this water purifier then I felt that there was some problem with the water.I called HUL helpline they had sent a person to give a demo and shockingly i was informed that my water purifier can not filter HARD WATER i.e water taken from pumps/wells.

I am using the Pureit since last3 years. The water quality is really good. It works really good but after a certain time period you wil have to clean the filter otherwise the water purification happens very slowly. HUL has given the qquipment to clean the dome shaped filter but they have not given any filter for cleaning the initial filter.

Over all I would say it is really good, portable water purifier.

Got it delivered and installed it by myself. Read the manual and assemble in 10 minutes.
Well designed and slim form factor. Resulted in some extra space in my kitchen.
However, the water that it purifies has a distinct 'chemical' smell (which isn't there in the input water). Might become a blocker if you value the taste of the water.

Extra Tip- The installation guy from HUL will come within one day of raising a request. In case you are a working professional then call them on Friday morning to schedule for Saturday.

I have been using this purifier for over a month now. I have faced no problems and am satisfied with the product. There are two colours available ... blue and burgundy.

The water comes out very clean. Also, the complete package is very light and can be easily carried over to another place and reassembled. The complete replacement kit [filters and all] is easily available in the market for Rs. 350].

One thing to keep in mind is that for storage you can only store the amount of water that can be kept in the lower container. If more water is added in the above container then the water will be leaked out.
But for small families or single person use....the water is enough to suffice a day or two.
