I Dare! is a biography written by Parmesh Dangwal. It is about the famous police officer and activist Kiran Bedi, and it talks about the struggles she has faced in her career and personal life and how she has overcome them.
Summary Of The Book
I Dare!: Kiran Bedi- A Biography is a book written by Parmesh Dangwal about the social reformist Kiran Bedi, which is a compilation of all the obstacles she has faced and overcome along her way up the rungs of success. Corruption has made its way into the critical parts of the Indian governance, so much so that the people have lost faith in getting something righteously. The devil of corruption, of bribery, of blackmailing, and threatening is prevalent at every corner of life and at every stage of development. The more an institution is developed, the more the bribe expected is.
The country was in dire need of an overhaul, a forceful reform that would change its very face and its ruling pattern. It was at that critical point that Kiran Bedi decided to enter the league of activists that would change the future of India for good. By starting with the description of her early career years, and moving on to the roles she played in her personal life, the book goes on to talk about some of the biggest challenges Bedi has had to face. She has had to withstand the Lawyers’ strike against her, and the sabotage of police reforms.
It was then that Bedi decided to move on, to fight corruption in its face, and to not be shattered by her foes and their efforts to sabotage her plans. She talks about how she would prevent stifling of creativity, how she would fight anything that obstructed growth and crush morale. She says that her self-respect, innate sense of justice, and her values propelled her to become the master of her time. Her active participation in the development and betterment of the Tihar jail and the facilities it offers for its inmates are also mentioned in the book.
There are also anecdotes from the activities of the Joint Committee formed against corruption, headed by Anna Hazare, for drafting a new Janlokpal Bill that effectively uproots corruption and its myriad forms.

Parmesh Dangwal is an English lecturer at DAV Postgraduate College, Dehradun, Uttar Pradesh.
He holds a postgraduate degree in English from the University of Allahabad, before which he taught at the University of Delhi. Apart from teaching, he is also involved in activities for human rights, women’s empowerment, people’s entitlement, and environmental issues. He works for voluntary organisations that propagate social welfare.

"I DARE" is not just an Biography or a book about an this extraordinary lady i.e. Dr.Kiran Bedi..but rather its fable about how a lady reaches the top by defeating all the obstacles put in front of her- be it in her personal life or professional life..Its a great buk about a great lady which will teach u great practical wisdom which u will never learn from anywhere else..Do u care wht she did and why she did and how she did?????..If u do, then this is the book for u..Buy it and don't just keep it on your table lying among dust particles..Read it

Hats Off...... Indeed she dares !!!
The book 'I Dare' deals extensively into the life of the first woman I.P.S. officer of India and one of the best cop our country has ever produced. It also reveals into the insight of the unholy nexus between the political class and the bureaucratic setup which tries to pull down any concerted effort aimed at improving the lives of the common man.... but a woman like Dr. Kiran Bedi defy all odds to come stronger every time... be it the prison reforms of Tihar.. or towing away of the PM's car for illegal parking(the first and probably the last of its kind in India).... or her crusade against corruption under the aegis of India against corruption.. indeed she dares and only an outright, honest, and humane officer like her can dare to do so at the cost of her lucrative career for the common good of ordinary citizen.. A must read book for all the youngsters and more so for civil services aspirants.....

I Salute!
I Dare is Kiran Bedi's story. After reading I thought how come this lady has so much strength. After starting so many good things where ever she was posted she was transferred somewhere else citing some stupid reason even before she could finish the work/schemes that she had started.And now they try to defame this lady why? because she starts to protest against corruption?
A normal person would have gone into depression. But then isnt this the reason that she is Kiran Bedi! I Salute!
