I, Rama: Age Of Seers (Book - 1), the first in the trilogy by Ravi Venu, is a brilliant and contemporary, sci-fi version of the famed epic of Ramayana, told through a first-person narrative by Lord Rama himself, telling his entire story from birth till his exile.

    Summary Of The Book

Lord Rama, also known as Maryada Purushottama, meaning the Lord of Virtue, has been revered since centuries, for being a brave warrior, a just and fair king, a dutiful son, a devoted husband, a loving brother, and all in all, an exemplary being, who inspired his subjects, and epitomised greatness in every way.

I, Rama: Age Of Seers (Book - 1) provides an entirely fresh perspective to the legendary tale of Ramayana. Cleverly written, thoroughly researched, and an ingenious representation of the ancient epic, the book blends in sci-fi fantasy with facts, recasting definitive events and providing metaphysical and scientific connotations to them. This takes on a whole new and exciting interpretation for lovers of Ramayana, and Lord Rama.

I, Rama: Age Of Seers (Book - 1) set as a first person account of events, seen through the eyes of Rama himself, begins with him as an old king, ruling over Ayodhya, introspecting about his life, and narrating his story to his sons and friends. Providing a transfixing account of events that transformed Rama from prince to an immortal God, I, Rama: Age Of Seers (Book - 1) outlines a prophecy which is the basis for an elaborate biological warfare involving Rama’s father Dasaratha and his skills, leading to the birth of Rama and his brothers.

Rama, created to abandon darkness in the world and ensure safety by destroying the Asuras and Demon clan, learns his specific purpose from Vishwamitra, who is depicted very differently, by stating his fondness for righteousness, while also revealing his failings and attachments, including succumbing to Menaka’s charms, and later, committing penance.

Pivotal to the book, and its main highlight, is Kaikeyi’s character, shown unlike ever before, as a strong willed warrior queen, and the ultimate strategist, playing her part in the prophecy, explained to her by the seer Vishwamitra. Readers get to learn a whole different side of her as revealed by Rama.

The book talks about Rama’s strong love and marriage to Sita, learning the art of War, and Weaponry with his brothers, and accepting exile as his destined path of immortal glory, chosen for him by the supreme spiritual seers. It addresses many unanswered questions from a religious and rationalist perspective, rekindling the passion behind Rama.

I, Rama - A Modern Day Version of Ramayana

When I saw the title, my heart leaped. For here was something I was looking for all along. I wanted to know what Rama would have to say about his life, his wife and how he treated her on the say so of an ignorant dhobi.

Although the first volume did not cover that aspect, I loved the way there are such logical, rational explanations for all the stories which constitute the Ramayana - explanations which will definitely make sense to the present generation.

The women are also portrayed i...

A Refreshing Read of New Age Ramayan

After a long time,a book read in a single sitting, concise yet comprehensive.A pragmatic Ramayan that addresses many hitherto unanswered questions and answers them convincingly.Particularly suited for a generation that likes to retort ,"But how?"There is no frivolousness when dealing with central characters,as is the case in many of the current mythology based books, nor is there an unneccessary deification. Thus,it is a book for the devout as well as the rationalist.

    I loved all the women.None...

I, RAMA – King of Ayodhya

I, RAMA – King of Ayodhya

While reading the book the 1st thing which strikes is the character of Kaikei….. But seeing enough people wrote about this character, thought should give my reviews on the last 2 chapters

I was completely mesmerized by the time I reached the last chapter of the book...Depicting the loveliness of RAMA and waiting for a shoulder where he can rest his head. Indeed it is a stage which is bound to come in every one’s life. The narration done by the author is exemplary....

    I RAMA - for a moment i thought i am Rama !!!!!

When i first saw the book in flipkart, i remember telling myself - "Not again, how many times will it be written or Re-written as people call it" but the title intrigued me.

"I Rama" - made me take a closer look and when the moment i read the summary, i knew that this book was destined to be read. A very clever and brilliant representation of the age old epic and that didn't stop there. A Mystical blend of science and myth where you can understand the core of quantum physics.. phew!!!.

Never knew Rama had so much to share!!!

This is a clean mythology with sci fi book.

I loved the characters and the way the story is told. Simple - easy english and very nice.
Author builds surprises at every chapter, loved the tales of Dasaratha, Vishwamitra and several smaller characters.
Women come out as very powerful, more than the men. Sometimes I felt the men depended on women too.
Action and romance scenes are more like watching some movie. Very expressive and picturesque writing.
So - if you want answers for Rama's sto...

I Rama ... in my reveiwers words !

I ,Rama---------A continuous conflict between man and God – man !! An interesting Portrayal in first person, in the words of Rama ,the Hero, the warrior, the friend, the protective big brother, the frightened boy, and the maturing man fighting his destiny! are brought close to one's heart in this narration.
It is very heartening sometimes in this narration ,to feel that Rama the Great is very close to us, He could have been any prince fighting tigers, a hero who saw his mother and father f...

    Very Detailed!!!

The book enfolds to a very detailed narration of the description, which slows down the pace. But none the less the excitement still captures one to keep turning the pages and awaiting for the sequel. The online video and the website detailed work are also worth appreciation.

    I Rama

The moment I saw the cover of “IRama”, the first thought stuck me, not again...uh!...one more Ramayana! Tell me something what I don’t know already! I flipped very reluctantly…first page, second page and then a chapter! Wow! I always wanted to know what happened to Rama after Luva and Kusha united? What happened to Rama after Sita went back into the earth? What happened?? Well, the interesting part about the book IRama is that it has the King of Ayodhya introduced as an old King still ru...

    Unputdownable!

When I was handed this book, I reluctantly began reading it, more so because my cousin's a part of it and it would be rude to refuse. At first, I inwardly groaned thinking Oh no, Ramayana again? But it has me hooked from the prologue! Interestingly presented, the book changed my perspective on Kaikeyi so much that I am in awe her now. It is truly unputdownable. The only flip side is that this is a part of trilogy and my patience is already wearing thin at the thought of waiting for the next ...
