It's not true 8MP, it's just software interpolated. Just like if you take a 1.3MP image and stretch it to 8MP in Photoshop. Photoshop will probably do a better job though.

They also have a 12MP version, which is again interpolated from sensor's true resolution which is 2MP.

This is yet another normal webcam. Don't get blown away by the heavy specs. 8.0 MP still image and 4.0 MP video is jaw dropping. But i don't think it is any better than the ordinary Logitech/Creative/Microsoft webcams. However, the performance in lowlight conditions is good and movement of the frames in video is smooth.

Well, the camera isn't as good as an 8MP camera, but still it isn't bad either. It's pretty good picture quality and the built-in-mic works good. Clarity of the picture and audio is quite nice. Compatible with most of the messaging systems. Good quality for Video chatting. Picture quality is good enough even for small video recordings. The six LED's provide enough light for a great night vision. The night vision feature works really great in no light. There is the auto white balance and auto contrast. But sadly there is no auto-focus, so you have to manually adjust the lens. That's the only drawback. On the whole, for it's price, it's defiantly a buy.

The camera is good for video chat.. i would say decent quality pictures, but don't go by the product specifications written, its no were near a 8 MP clarity. So don't expect too much when purchasing this cam.. I using it with ma desktop at home and used to video chat.. The base of the cam doesn't fit tightly on to the desktop so , if fell down a couple of times. Overall its a good product - still running no complaints at all.. The LED lights are well placed and is bright enough.. although i don't use them most of the time.
