The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) hold exams for selecting candidates for recruitment to bank jobs in various cadres. One of these is the exam for clerical jobs at various banks.
The exam consists of 5 sections of objective type questions. Each section has 50 questions for a total of 50 marks. The paper is for a total of 250 marks. The sections are English language, reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude, general/banking awareness, and computer knowledge.
The English language section covers vocabulary, comprehension, error detection and correction, and grammar, and usage. Logical reasoning section tests verbal and non-verbal reasoning abilities.
Quantitative aptitude covers various arithmetic topics like roots, average, percentage, ratios & proportions, profit & loss, time & work, problems on trains, boats & streams, stocks & shares, logarithms etc. This section also tests data interpretation.
The general/marketing and banking awareness section covers topics like current events, general science, history, geography, polity, economy, culture, the constitution and sports etc. Computer awareness section tests basic computer knowledge about hardware, software, applications etc.
This book contains two solved papers of the year 2011. The next section contains 20 practice papers for the clerk exam. The papers are divided into five sections each.
The questions in each section are of the objective type. The book also provides solutions to the questions at the end of each practice set, with hints and suggestions that might help while taking the actual exam.
