If ever there was crap on earth, it's this this this!

No need for pros or cons on this one. Every thing sucks - big time! I've been using this pathetic excuse of a phone for almost a year and found that it's the most god-awful gizmo in the whole wide world. There's not a single redeeming feature on this one, apart from may be its screen resolution.

To begin with, its battery life is simply terrible. On a lucky day I'd probably get a hours charge - but more often than not, it's half hour or so - and mind you, I don't use too many apps and have also installed juice defender for good measure. Most of the time, it's lying on my desk charging. Travelers beware!

It cuts a sorry figure in other areas too. The edge keeps dropping when I need it most, hence browsing becomes a nightmare. When it does work, it's frustratingly slow. Wifi hardly works and when it does, it's usually when I'm right next to my modem. Since i don't have a 3G connection, i can't comment on that one, but I wouldn't be surprised if it disappoints on that department too.

Camera is just about average and so is the video. Avoid night shots - you'll be in for a shock if you do.

The phone hangs almost 2 to 3 times a day. Overall performance is very sluggish and it takes ages to open apps. Some of the pre -installed apps don't work and others simply freeze while using them.

Music suddenly stops for no rhyme or reason. Changes ringtone as it pleases. Most of the time it doesn't recognize the external memory, hence I'm unable to access music - requires restart after removing and reinserting battery for music to play. The built in music player works only on shuffle mode.

These are just a few of the many problems this shitty phone suffers from.

The bottom line is, if you want a smartphone, pay for a smartphone. Don't compromise. Cheap excuse of a phone like this Chinese shit will leave you frustrated and will want to make you tear your hair in despair. Smartphones cost money - at least twice as much as this one. If your budget is only 6k or so, my advise is to go for a branded feature phone that's reliable and gives years of phoning pleasure!

idea blade mobile phone

I am new to the android and started it with this phone yesterday itself. I must say that my experience is "so far so good". The phone has following pros and cons according to me -

Pros :

1) Excellent display/resolution that could be found next in 15k range motorola defy.
2) Very nice touch screen. Smooth as it could be.
3) OK performance
4) Excellent sound at low levels (I am of course not a rock lover).
5) Very elegant look until you hold it in your hand

Cons :

1) Plastic type body, poorly fitted buttons which makes it look not expensive when taken in hand.
2) Maximum level of sound is not loud enough (for me its no problem).
3) Earphone given with the pack is 3rd class (or even 4th class).

Well, although there are a few cons, as e'body said, there are no cons if price range is taken into account. Considering the unavailability of Spice MI410, Micromax A85, or Olive Smart V-S300 in the market, there is no phone which compares ZTE blade at this price range.

I don't regret buying it so far and I'd be happy if I had bought it in 10k as well. 8k is of course an unmatched price.

Awesome Phone for the price

I have this phone as DELL XCD 35. When it was initially launched it costed me 11500 bucks 2-3 years ago. Now it's less than 5500 on ebay india.

The price here on flipkart is overpriced. But this is a nice phone. The Android OS is upgradable to 2.3 as I have done it. I rooted and installed Android 2.3 (Cyanogenmod ROM).

Display and resolution is much better than other branded models like Samsung. I used to compare with Samsung Galaxy Ace then for buying. I chose this.

It Has 256 MB Ram and is Chinese blade!

According to wikipedia, Idea Blade is a Chinese Blade Version, Whose RAM is not unlockable to 512 MB and it may not support android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich and Jellybean 4.1, if tried, may BRICK your Device! So you may buy this mobile but be sure that it may not perform as good as Dell XCD35 and may perform slowly during the usage of heavy apps.

this phone sucks

I have the European version of this mobile(dell xcd35) and tried the ics rom from cyanogenmod,it works like breeze and ram has been unlocked to 512mb.. works very smooth and faster than the stock rom (android froyo(2.2).i prefer the dell xcd35 than this sucking idea blade with 256mb and my friend has this idea blade which kneels down to my dell xcd35 :D

rom problems

brought idea blade a month ago, but 256mb ram gives me a lot of trouble, messageing app gets killed due to low ram and i cannot recive sms, even music player also gets killed randomly like every other app...

tried various roms, but cyanogen and most cyanogen based rom have a problem in which bluetooth doesn't switches on.

right now i am using joyos it is the only cyanogen based rom in which bluetooth works properly with an option to lock messaging app in memory..

in other worlds dont buy it as 256 mb ram will give you a lot of trouble....

RMA of Idea Blade

I am one of the initial buyers of Idea Blade. I bought in November 2011 just after its launch. Unfortunately couple of days back, I ran into a problem. My Blade was not getting charged more than 5%.

Idea provides 1 year warranty for this mobile and I went to their Basavanagudi service center. List of service centers can be obtained from Idea website.

I was asked to leave my mobile with the invoice, and got a call from them after two days to collect my mobile back.

They have replaced the main board and battery. No questions asked and not a single rupee charged. Needless to say, my mobile works like new now. I was delighted with the service they provided, because I have experience going to service center of Sony Ericsson before, and I was expecting to hear like 'this is not covered or only these parts are covered etc..'

I would appreciate service center and also good warranty for the product. But quite unfortunate for the problem it had developed.
