Illusion Of Beauty

This story is about a little girl from a low income working class background who experiences a tragic accident. The accident disfigures her face, leading to condemnation from her peers, along with alienation. Years later while attending high school her scars are removed through the phenomena of cosmetic surgery. Her new found beauty makes her the envy of her peers and the most desired girl in her school. As her physical beauty evolves, her attractiveness opens doors for her wherever she goes. In addition, through her academic achievement, she earns herself a scholarship to a prestigious university. There the wealthiest and most popular gentlemen pursue her vigorously. Eventually, her physical beauty attracts the attention of one of the most sought after alumni. In time, she looses herself in this world of luxury and material gratification, blindly abandoning those individuals who'd helped build her esteem, character, and nurture her spirituality. This overwhelming, masquerade of life she is leading results in her marriage to this alumnus. In the course of this brief union, his true nature is revealed. As the result of a marital dispute, she has a car accident which leaves her blind, with her chest area and eyes scarred. During her hospital stay, she awakens from this misconceived fantasy of a relationship and returns to those she foolishly disregarded. In the course of her recovery, she is embraced by an elderly lady, a hospital aid, who helps to guide her in managing her new reality. As she rediscovers the essence of her being, and matures into a strong and capable woman, she encounters a gentleman who dramatically influences her transition. Through the guidance and wisdom of theelderly lady, they grow more in tune with their spirituality, and evolve into soul-mates.
