The Immortals of Meluha (English) (Paperback) Price: Rs.155

The Immortals Of Meluha is a thrilling story about a warrior named Shiva, who is given the responsibility to protect the empire of Meluha from dangerous intruders. This mythological novel is fast-paced, and focuses on duty, love, principles and more.

Summary Of The Book

The land of Meluha is an empire created by Lord Rama, and it is ruled by the Suryavanshis. This empire is powerful and proud, however, the Saraswati river that is their source of water is slowing drying up. On top of that, the empire is at war with the Chandravanshis who have allied with The Nagas, a group of sinister and deformed human beings who have extraordinary martial art skills.

The Immortals Of Meluha, published in 2010, is the first story of the trilogy. Daksha, the king of the Suryavanshis, realizes that his empire needs help. He invites a tribe from Tibet to help him fight off the enemies. The Tibetan Guna tribe is lead by Shiva, who is a fearless soldier, and the only one who does not fall ill on arriving at Meluha. To everyone's surprise, Shiva’s throat turns blue.

The locals believe that this warrior is their fabled saviour Lord Shiva, also known as Neelkanth. Shiva goes to Devagiri to meet Daksha and his daughter Princess Sati. There, he learns about the dangerous wars and terror attacks that the Chandravanshis have carried out on the Meluhans.

The brave warrior gets enraged, and declares a full war on the enemy. Readers will find this mythological fantasy to be gripping and exciting. Questions about Shiva’s duty, destiny, and karma arise throughout the book. The author has written a book that is adventurous, mystifying, and captivating, but at the same time he also has thrown light onto the subjects of what is evil, and who is truly a hero.

This page-turner is a treat for readers who enjoy history, fantasy, and adventure. The Immortals Of Meluha received good reviews from leading newspapers, and was a bestseller within its first week of release.

Awesome book and other top books

There are few authors in India who write exceptionally well. Amish is one of those. I am a vivid reader and read almost all the books that come my way. This stands fifth.

1. Corporate Chanakya
2. That's the way we met - Sudeep Nagarkar
3. How I braved Any Aunty - Varun Aggarwal
4. The Backbenchers - Siddharth Oberoi
5. The immortals of Melhua- Amish Tripathi

A Master Piece

One of my friend recommended this book and while reading I was so lost in it that I didn't realized I was on the last page. The ending of the book leaves you with curiosity to quickly jump to the next part. Same with the 2nd part "The Secret of Nagas"... Now I can't wait to get my hands on the last piece of the triology. The books is so brilliantly written that it truly deserves the title "Master Piece"

This book is a sure shot "BUY"

Just an average Fiction

I borrowed and read this book from my friend who bought this from flipkart.

Actually I am a follower (I believe) of Lord Shiva and not the man Shiva (The fiction Character Mentioned Here).

Some Twisted Facts.
1.How come Lord Ganesh is Nor Lord Shivas son (In the story he is the son of sati's first husband).
2.Lord Ram Married Sita by breaking Lord Shivas bow(Here Lord Shiva appears after lord ram).
3.And Lord Shiva and Lord Rudra are not two different persons who lived at different times they are the same person.
4.I did not see the the nagas (Serpents and not the nagas mentioned in th...

4.I did not see the the nagas (Serpents and not the nagas mentioned in the book) which is constant companion of Lord Shiva.
5.The middle eye of Shiva is also missing...

And most of the people would give him positive reviews due to
1.They consider this as just a fiction book (Like harry potter)
2.They don't know the true story of Lord Shiva.

I don't care who gives negative rating to my review but truth is truth.
This book is just a time pass read and one time read only......

READ THIS BOOK ONLY FOR TIME PASS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER BOOK

Good.

My first mythological read. I liked the way the author has tried to give a fictitious tale about Lord Shiva. Though the plot doesn't justify the facts of the sacred texts yet on its own it creates a worthy myth. It maintains the glory of the Mahadev (Lord Shiva), but fails to do complete justice... Hope for Fiction in India

After reading the Shiva Trilogy, I've finally found hope that Indian authors can write riveting page turners.
Kudos to Amish Tripathi for conceiving and penning such a tale. The trilogy would appeal more to readers with a basic insight into Hindu mythology, while other readers would certainly not...

Awesome

The imagination of the writer is commendable. He has given a whole new twist to the history of Lord Shiva and that too in addendum to the raised interest of the reader. (View complete review)
