'Inferno' Covers a Topic which Makes you Think Hard!

The greatest achievement of a writer comes when he/she can make the readers think. This book is the usual Dan Brown... finding secrets immersed in works of the Masters. However, this book has something more too... and that's what makes us think.
For the first time, a Dan Brown antagonist makes you believe in what he believed. What he believed in is the Truth. And the measures he took (although debatable) are the ones of a lonely and desperate genius. Even for once, you start believing in the vision of the "bad" guy. And for making us do that, FULL CREDIT goes to the author.

Moreover, this novel portrays Robert Langdon at his most vulnerable... starting from the scratch and re-deciphering what he had already deciphered.
And lastly, the issue which is the epicenter of the novel. Sadly, the issue and its threat do exist in reality. And something really should be done about it.
Kudos to Mr. Brown for bringing out yet another unputdownable read. It covers up for the disappointment caused by 'The Lost Symbol'.
'Inferno' is indeed a must-buy. Oh, and thanks to Flipkart for delivering it on the very day of its release.

To Anuradha Bose

I do not know whether you have even read the book or are sounding like one of those critics who have unknowingly badgered about the book.It seems you need to know how to write rather than advise others regarding Dan Brown's recent novel.

First of all you have mentioned tom and jerry in your abysmal review.even a child knows the outcome in a tom and jerry episode.Dan brown writes thrillers where readers hold their breath till the last chapter to know the end plot.

Secondly as all my flipkart friends would agree, your predicament regarding inferno's sale would not decide on its actual sales....

Secondly as all my flipkart friends would agree, your predicament regarding inferno's sale would not decide on its actual sales.the numbers would speak for themselves.

And finally ask yourself how many people knew or even if they knew were interested about dante and his literary masterpiece before the release of this book.it is now that people would show interest in dante's divine comedy.

So Miss Bose,go read Matthew Pearl's The Dante Club for Brown's Inferno would transcend your understanding because here we are talking about Dan Brown who is today considered as one of the best writers in thrillers.stop posting stupid comments in your futile attempts to mislead others.for its not happening

To all my friends and fans of Dan Brown out there,if you are intending to purchase this book,do so without any hesitation.I have bought this book, read this book and i have just one word for it,OUTSTANDING.Dante Alighieri has written a great poem.and dan brown has done an even better job in interpreting it for his novel.

I am equally thankful to flipkart for their wonderful delivery service.the book reached at my house the next day of its release.

Good one, But not Dan Brown's Best! Koz Langdon needs some rest!

One awesome thing about Dan Brown is that, He makes his readers want to go to all the places he so beautifully describes in his books.
It was Paris in the Da Vinci Code, then The Vatican City in Angels and Demons, the DC Capitol Building in The Lost Symbol and now, Florence and Venice! His magic is captivating.
If you're a previous reader, you would want to love to have that magic continued. And if you're a newbie in the world of Dan Brown, brace yourself to get thrilled!

If you're a previous reader, you would want to love to have that magic continued. And if you're a newbie in the world of Dan Brown, brace yourself to get thrilled!
Now, here comes the speedbreaker. Dan Brown has put too many stakes on Robert Langdon and the chases across various Churches, Cathedrals with a pretty-smart-outwitting woman by his side, this has now become slightly redundant. Though, the magic he weaves over his readers does not fail to impress us, with magnanimous descriptions in depth of Dante's works and Botticelli's paintings, and also given the fact that the last Robert Langdon book was released in 2009, (The lost symbol), it was good to see the new novel with inspiring art and litereature of the 13th century by Dante and Botticelli, intertwined with almost break neck pacing chase, at some point of time, the reader might just want to give some rest to the book and pick it up again. Just to absorb the sheer descriptions and the beauty of the subjects, he takes his reader to.
With an interesting subject and blending it with modern science, Dan brown produced an interesting read!
Nevertheless I have enjoyed reading it and now have lots of things 'To-Google' in my list!
Happy Reading!
PS. Flipkart initially displayed the price as Rs. 725 and later gave me the book for the reduced price at Rs. 510. Thank you for that Flipkart!

Un-put-downable!

Now, finally, Dan Brown has achieved redemption for The Lost Symbol. Inferno is not for the pedantic mindset of today. It has employed a Vito Corleone ideology in a magnanimous scale: profits of today are not necessarily the profits of tomorrow.

The book is a new chapter in the history of thriller on the basis of its very plot-line. The last 20 chapters just ridicule the very foundation that the first 80 chapters lay, and that too with elegance. Needless to say, Dan Brown's grasp on medieval art and literature shows the fathoms of research put into it. The whole book is a action-packed mo...

The last 20 chapters just ridicule the very foundation that the first 80 chapters lay, and that too with elegance. Needless to say, Dan Brown's grasp on medieval art and literature shows the fathoms of research put into it. The whole book is a action-packed movie in words.

With perhaps the best ending to any of Dan Brown's novels, Inferno is a book with a social message. With a backdrop of the well-known Italian poem, Dante Alighieri's The Divine Comedy, the labyrinth of imagination that erupts in the mind of the reader just renders this book as unputdownable.

Flipkart: delivery of the book on the very day of its release. You have won my respect and allegiance for my orders in the future.

Repetitive, but thought provoking

Robert Langdon has been a busy man, but it seems his outings have been less gripping of late. With four books out now, the Dan Brown formula is becoming slightly predictable.
How the pretty yet flawed female companion always finds Langdon is the biggest mystery.
That said, once we give Dan Brown his literary license to formula, Inferno is a gripping enough read that is guaranteed, if not to send your adrenaline pumping, at least to keep you turning pages. There are even fleeting moments when Brown seems to rely on you drawing conclusions on what will happen next based on his previous works...

That said, once we give Dan Brown his literary license to formula, Inferno is a gripping enough read that is guaranteed, if not to send your adrenaline pumping, at least to keep you turning pages. There are even fleeting moments when Brown seems to rely on you drawing conclusions on what will happen next based on his previous works to provide a new twist. One has to wonder whether Brown has been playing Assassin's Creed though, as the book follows pretty closely in the footsteps of Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
In a nutshell, Inferno is a decent enough book, not the best Langdon novel by a country mile, but with enough familiarity to draw you in. More than the writing, it is the issues it raises as it meanders along that are likely to send a shiver of foreboding up the spine.

Awesome book at awesome price only at Flipkart!

I am seriously addicted to reading books and this is the best book I've read so far. There is an awesome illustration behind the cover page which you don't get in the paperback edition. Excellent - quintessential Dan Brown

Unputdownable and every chapter brings about a surprise/shock.

Just that in this book Dan Brown goes into too great a detail about the landscape(churches, historic ruins etc) which kind of slows down the moment or the scene which is unfolding. I mean the protagonist is running for his life and...
