Excellent Book

First of all the book has such an awesome cover that you yourself feel like reading it. Then on top of that it gives you an thorough understanding about Polity, which no other book will be able to do. You get to understand why the things are so instead of how they are so. UPSC aspirants should couple this book along with Laxmikanth as DD Basu has quality but later has quantity. Some topics are not covered in this book

Must read if eager to know about Indian Constitution

I personally feel that it is the book which every aspirant of Indian constitution should read. It gives you real idea about Indian constitution. Now a days in many foreign countries also it is important reference book to study and in India, it is like a constitutional textbook for various exams and degrees.
If you have any slightest doubt about Indian constitution then I recommend you to read it and then make a conclusion.

Good read with author's detailed opinion

The book gives a detailed description of all the essential parts of the constitution with great amount of detail.Also the author's own opinion are given for parts and cases for which there is a divided opinion of the society.

Pros:
detailed description
Material properly organised
appendices for additional information

Cons:
Some modern and extra constitutional topics not covered
layout of the pages is not clear as headings are written towards the side
