Introduction To Electrodynamics

One of best in class book on basic electrodynamics. If you want to understand maxwell equation and its implication, this is the book to go for.

The principal and applications behind equations are explained in details and one has to read slow in order to assimilate the concepts.

Real eye opener for me.

Awesome self-study book !!

I purchased this book recently and I am extremely happy with it.
This book is great for self-study in electromagnetism. However, a moderate amount of mathematical preparation is required (more than grade 12).
The book is written somewhat like a lecture and will remind readers of the style of The Feynman Lectures series. All topics are lucidly explained and the emphasis is placed on the understanding on concepts rather than a mathematically rigorous treatment of electromagnetism.
The book is written keeping SI units in mind, so those who learn about Gaussian units/ Heaviside-Lorentz units later on(from other literature) may find it a bit confusing. However an appendix has been provided for formulas in all 3 systems.
The exercises are well-laid out with a gentle ramp in the difficulty curve. Also in-text questions after nearly each section are helpful for testing conceptual understanding.

Good Book for Undergraduate Study

Another nice book again by David Griffiths. The language is very simple and informal. I think the biggest plus point of this book is that the most fundamental concepts are explained in early chapters and then the rest half of the book is just wide application of these concepts. This is a rather unconventional presentation which may turn out to be very useful to people. Loaded with good questions and exercises this book is very good for introductory course. A must-have.

Great Book

This is a wonderful book specially if you rely on self studies. The book starts with basics of vector algebra which is required for the understanding of the concepts and takes you till the formulation of maxwell's equations. The approach to each problem is fantastic and gives you good insights into fundamentals of the physics involved.
