Investigating Social Studies - Class 3

This set of eight books for primary school, based on the new Tamil Nadu Matriculation syllabus, consists of the following. Investigating Environmental Studies for classes 1 and 2 Investigating Science for classes 3 - 5 Investigating Social Studies for classes 3 - 5 - There is heavy emphasis in the books on developing concepts, rather than merely providing information. - Carefully selected colour photographs, excellent illustrations and maps with visual effects generate interest and excitement in the subject. - Special efforts have been made to stimulate the thinking of the child and to increase his/her involment in the learning process. Contributing to this are: - 'Mind Openers' at the beginning of chapters consisting of leading questions, observations and activities to bring out what the children already know, to activate their thinking process and increase their involvement and partcipation. - 'Discuss and Answer' exercises to stimulate the thinking process towards applying the concepts learnt. - 'just for Fun' at the end of chapters, which gives projects and activities to create interest and to encourage the children to apply the concepts learnt.
