In the last decade for reaching developments have taken place in the working of the stock market, which has influenced the operations of all the players of stock market. Present stock market is significanlty different from what it used to be in eighties and before. There appears to be new opportunites, Challenges and threates in the stock market.

Vashist holds M.Com. and L.L.B from Panjab Univesity, Chandigarh and M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla> He has a rich experience of working both in the industry as well as in academics. he has been in the teaching professwion for the last 24 years. Presently, he is working as a Professor in the areas of accounting and finance at University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh. he has written extensively on different issues in accounting, finance and banking. His research papers have been published in reputed journals of commerce and management. he has published severn books in the areas of banking, finance and accounting. He has been associated with a number of academic and professional bodies. he has completed twelve Ph.D. dissertations under his guidance. He is a keen follower of developments in the area of banking and finance. Dr. R.K.Gupta holds M.Com., L.L.B., Advanced Diploma in Taxation and Ph.D. from Panjab University, Chandigarh. Presently, he is working as a Professor in the area of accounting and finance in the Department of Correspondence Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. He has been in the teaching profession since 1976. his research papers have been published in reputed journals of commerce and management. he is a life member of Indian Commerce Association, Research and Development Association and other academic assocations. He has been associated with a number of academic and professional bodies. His areas of specialization are accounting, finance and taxation.
