Jaane mat do yaaron!
JBDY is one of the classics of Indian cinema and thus far it has not been available in a home video release worthy of its status. This NFDC Collector's Edition release easily bests all previous DVD's. Taken from a digitally restored master the picture looks significantly crisper and more detailed than before. The sound is clean too, nothing stunning but quite acceptable for this low-budget film.

Truly a collectible... best till date
Years back when I got the bug of collecting DVDs, this was among my firsts.. I got a copy on Moserbaer. The very first time I played it, I was not happy as sound was like recorded one and picture hazy as if a cam print or compressed one. However, I thought it is a rare title and in its days DVDs and digitisation was not there.. So, got to be satisfied with this. For the fans
Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron is one of the classics of Indian cinema and I was happy to find this on DVD. The audio/video quality is surprisingly good considering how old the movie is and the 2nd DVD is a bonus for fans. The DVD packaging is also a welcome change from the cheap, low-quality plastic cases that most DVD's use now-a-days.

It is more appropriate to say Jeene Bhi Do Yaaro....a hilerious movie that points out corruption and being politically correct. Useful for modern time Era as it highlights all the issues but by way of light hearted commedy. Flipkart as usual rocks. Continue your good work and All The Best.

Classic on it's own. This version is by far the best one available on DVD.
The re-mastering is very nicely done.
The bonus description says "Director's Commentary" but there is none. Still worth to have in your collection if you are a JBDY fan.

One of its kind
I remember watching this movie long back with my family and how everyone throughly enjoyed it. The drama sequence where all characters get mixed up is simply outstanding for its comic timing. The way humour was integrated with sad realities of our system in the movie still remains unparalleled in the history of Indian cinema. Last time I purchased the DVD, my ex-boss took it and never gave it back sighting a different reason every time I asked for it (kanjoos!). But this time I got my hands on a better print!! The movie can be watched alone, with friends, family, people you dont like!! Anyone!!
NFDC is working on restoring quite a few titles, inlcluding "JBDY","Salim lange par mat ro" and quite a few others. They will be releasing the restored prints this in next 2 yrs I believe.

20 minutes sequence missing after 2min 8 seconds
as the description shows movie runtime is 110 minutes which is around 1hr 52 minute.... bt as i have old VCD of this movie in that its around 2hrs 10 minutes..... as when my friend bought i analyze that in this dvd after the runtime of 2 minute 9 seconds movie skips around 18minute....... so i think that portion was totally damaged so they didnt able to restored in this one.......... 18 minutes is quite long runtime and its missing ... SO SAD .... :( OVERALLL THE QUALITY IS BRILLIANT AS IF...

Excellent buy - color quality like never seen before on television!
I was waiting for this DVD ever since I read about it in the newspaper the other day. DVD quality is excellent and the colors while viewing are very real - for some reason whenever I have seen the movie on Doordarshan, it appeared dark and without much light. This DVD truly shows the right color and lighting as must have been used when movie was made. Extra DVD gives director and writer's insights on the movie. Truly a "collector's item"!!
