Dr Jibesh Bhattacharya, a double M.A of Calcutta University, was conferred the degree of Master of literature by Jaavpur University, Calcutta in 1975 for his thesis on John Ford. He carried on furthur research on John Ford and received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the same university in 1978. He was the Reader and Head, Department of English, Anandamohan College, Calcutta University, and served this institution for four decades.
