One of the best books on Java.Whether it's core or advanced Java you're interested in this is the book to buy. The language is simple, user-friendly and very easy to grasp. You will find this book very helpful if you already have hands-on knowledge of the OOPS concept of programming. If your looking to delve into the world of java, this is the book I'd recommend you to start with.

GoodThis book is good but too much in detail. Recommended only if you want to make a career in java. Else go in for books by balagurswami and tushar sambare. Those books are much simpler to understand. The level of COMPLETE REFERENCE is very high but if you are really interested in knowing everything about swings and stuff, it is the best buy

Precise ,Complete and AmazingVery good book,everything a beginner needs to start with in java and become a professional programmer.
