The Jesus Scroll

The earliest Gospel, Mark, was written over thirty years after Jesusa death. Matthew and Luke were written decades later. All are colored by specific historical contexts and were not selected for the official New Testament until the fourth century. What if we could strip away faulty memories and theological predispositions of the authors? What if we could strip away myths added from other religions in an attempt to make Jesus appear more divine? What if we could strip away accretions of later years that have little to do with the historical Jesus? What message might shine through? The Jesus Scroll attempts to deduce the essence of Jesusa teachings through a personal journal Jesus might have written, revealing that social justice is the only meaningful worship of God, and dedication to peace and nonviolence through love of all creation the only meaningful mechanism for demonstrating love of the Creator.
