Stunning tales of stalking man-eaters on foot, alone on rocky terrains and inside deep woods described in a flowing narrative with exceptional detailing of the situations that create a three dimensional image inside your grey-matter.
Yet, this book is not just ordinary "shikar" stories. The narrator's deep love for jungles & the jungle-folk, quite evident in every piece of this book together with his appreciative view point of the simple but courageous hill-men living surrounding the Lower Himalayas goes on to make Corbett's writing a master-piece.
A must-read naturally !!
Jim Corbett is a master narrator. A must read if your are fond of animals and nature. I hardly knew anything about tigers, but after reading the book, i am sure i can go face to face with a tiger and may live to tell the tale ;)
Very happy with this book; Jim Corbett does not disappoint!
Have been meaning to read a JC book for a very long time and finally got down to this. Love the language and descriptions that make it very realistic.
though the book is good one it gives u the feel of jungle but almost all the stories of the first part are repetitive in nature. All the hunting of the meneaters are almost same. it robs u of the thrill after first two stories.
