John Carter (Movie, DVD) Price: Rs.599

John Carter is a Disney production that revolves around the story of a Civil War veteran who has lost the will to serve his country due to the war atrocities that he witnessed. As luck would have it, while chasing a man through the rocky mountain passes, he chances upon a strange humanoid alien who possess an amulet that makes a copy of him and transfers his consciousness to the copy.

The said copy is in Mars, which strangely resembles like a barren version of Earth. He finds that his strength is greatly increased on this planet due to the lighter gravity that Mars has. John Carter has Andrew Stanton at the director’s helm and has also served as the writer for it. It stars Taylor Kitsch Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe. The action adventure fantasy film is a must watch for the whole family.

Another sub-par Blu-ray release by Disney

Totally agree with the reviewer above. Make no mistake, most of the local studios have been taking the consumers on a ride when it comes to the quality of Blu-ray! They have been authoring their disc locally and giving the consumers sub-par Blu-ray releases at high prices. A lot of times we are offered the lossy DTS-HR while the whole world gets DTS-MA (Master Audio) which is totally unacceptable. The story doesn't just end there. Often the picture quality is not on par with their international counterparts and a lot of times the bonus features are printed on the back cover but are actually... ()

A lot of times we are offered the lossy DTS-HR while the whole world gets DTS-MA (Master Audio) which is totally unacceptable. The story doesn't just end there. Often the picture quality is not on par with their international counterparts and a lot of times the bonus features are printed on the back cover but are actually missing on the disc. So be aware of what you are buying from the local market in the name of Blu-ray.

It's time more people got themselves aware of these unfair practices by the local studios and send out a word to them that we are not naive when it comes to the latest technology and refuse to buy any of these sub-par Blu-ray releases from them. You take consumers for granted, you lose business. It's as simple as that. About time they learnt their lesson.

Flipkart service is Great but Disney failed

Make no Mistake Flipkart service is great as usual, my low rating is for Disney's inability to provide perfect product. This Blu-ray was packaged with DTS-HR which considers as Lossy audio track instead of lossless DTS-HD like in US.

Good for one-time!

This movie is not a classic by any means, but neither did it deserve such a savage drabbing as it had received at the box-office. It is modestly paced, has several action-packed and taut sequences, and although the leggy heroine fell short of Burrough's descriptions ( I am not sure censors could have handled her had the depiction been that accurate) she was OK. Good viewing for a lazy afternoon/empty evening.
