  • Description

John Carter is a Disney production that revolves around the story of a Civil War veteran who has lost the will to serve his country due to the war atrocities that he witnessed. As luck would have it, while chasing a man through the rocky mountain passes, he chances upon a strange humanoid alien who possess an amulet that makes a copy of him and transfers his consciousness to the copy.

The said copy is in Mars, which strangely resembles like a barren version of Earth. He finds that his strength is greatly increased on this planet due to the lighter gravity that Mars has. John Carter has Andrew Stanton at the director’s helm and has also served as the writer for it. It stars Taylor Kitsch Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe. The action adventure fantasy film is a must watch for the whole family.

    Good for one-time!

This movie is not a classic by any means, but neither did it deserve such a savage drabbing as it had received at the box-office. It is modestly paced, has several action-packed and taut sequences, and although the leggy heroine fell short of Burrough's descriptions ( I am not sure censors could have handled her had the depiction been that accurate) she was OK. Good viewing for a lazy afternoon/empty evening.
