Jonathan Of Scots

Political intrigue sets off a string of adventures in 17th-century Scotland, when an evil duke burns young Jonathans family home and usurps his farmlands. Jon finds he has been falsely branded a murderer and arsonist. Jons loyalty is closely associated with the Stuart kings of England, whose religious beliefs are being challenged by Oliver Cromwell during the Second English Civil War. Jon sets out on a quest over land and sea to find a priceless heirloom held by one of his four uncles, one of whom attempts to murder Jon because the heirloom has the power to restore the Stuart kings to the throne of England. Throughout the quest, numerous enemies stalk Jon and his companions, at one time confining them to a deep dungeon with no chance of rescue. Two tender love stories evolve while Jon searches through colorful historical locations, including a sea voyage and conflict with pirates.
