Life couldn't be better for Brad Preston. He's about to enter his junior year of college and has a good shot at a major-league baseball career. He also has a wonderful relationship with his high school sweetheart, Kristy. But childhood rival Greg Somanski changes everything. Jealous of Brad's athletic talent, Greg schemes to put an end to Brad and Kristy's relationship-and he succeeds. Greg delivers a punishing pitch to Brad during a baseball game, causing him to severely injure his shoulder and indefinitely postpone his baseball career.

Brad's determination to overcome these setbacks brings him a new love in his wife Anne and a promising career that could possibly lead to his return to baseball. With the birth of his daughter and the possibility of living his dreams in the major leagues, Brad feels confident in the path his life has taken.
