Judaism: Its Doctrines And Duties (1872)

As a literary production, this little book shows: there is a religion without mysteries or miracles, rational and self-evident; this rational religion is taught in the Bible, called, in the Gentile phraseology, the Old Testament; this scriptural and rational religion is Judaism; Judaism, in its doctrines and duties, is eminently humane, universal, liberal, and progressive, in perfect harmony with modern science, criticism and philosophy, and in full sympathy with universal liberty, equality, justice and charity; therefore Judaism is the religion of the future generations, as it was the teacher of the past ones.
