The only problem is that no screen guard is available so Im using Galaxy S3's screen guard. And there is no case for the phone.

I am using this phone for last ~ 20 days. I bought it after trying it out for nearly 45 mins in nearby e-zone, researching extensively on internet, reading & watching all youtube reviews & even then - with some skepticism. I guess I'll have to give full marks to Karbonn for taking on big giants like Samsung/Apple/Sony etc with their humble but well laid products.My obervations for this phone is as follows:-

Why you should buy this phone:-
Perfect Touch Response. Amazing internet speed (Karbonn smart browser works like a dream even with EDGE). You can play all the games (I play atleast 50 games of Templerun everyday without any issues). Reasonable internal memory. More than enough RAM. Satisfying screen size & presence. Dual SIM. Under 10k. Price might come down in coming days as successors are getting launched. Perfect to be your first Android. It looks like a durable device which should last atleast an year (though only time will tell). Setting & using email is like a charm.

Why you should not buy this phone:-
Battery life is ok for a moderate user but for heavy gamers like me (which you can become with Andorid) it runs out in half a day. Charging takes some time. Speaker phone is not best in class. I have missed calls even though phone is at its loudest, difficult to hear it in another room. Other person sometimes can not hear you properly. Karbonn A21 has arrived with better specs. Micromax A110 & A90+ have also arrived.

Having said all that. I still give this phone 4/5 as it's my first Android & it has met my expectations so far.

Just aftr a mnth I can say that my decision was right. Including all positive reviews, for the gaming side
1. War Blood -> runs at Peak Graphics.
2. Samurai Vengeance -> runs at Peak Graphics.
3. C.O.B.R.A.

was waiting to use a phone with stock android. could not get the Google nexus phones. so bought this one! i have no issues with it, considering i know of people's expensive phones conking off after just days of usage. this one seems like a keeper! Just have one qualm though? it would help if any of you'll could suggest a good battery saver App. i have been using between JDefender and Batter Defender! Any suggestions would help! Fingers crossed.

Its very good phone with almost all features expensive phones have. I saw many complaining about its battery issue , but I have a solution for it. Just turn off location services from settings & see the difference. I use it with approx 30-40mins calling , 1-2 hours of surfing & some gaming and it easily lasts for more than a day.Also 4.3" screen is quite comfortable to handle with single hand as compared to 5" screen mobiles. Am using it from 20 days & it has never hanged...Not even a single time and also touch is very smooth & non laggy...Its a great phone

used it for 15-20 days..

mtk6575 soc is quite a performer for this price.
(just occasional lags)

screen is bright but has this strong white tint dat ruins the entire image.

RAM is OK OK

Speaker is very mediocre

accessories hopeless

camera is good,not a tad better than that.( autofocusing excellent)

comes with a preinstalled screen guard that gets scratched just mins after uve started using the phone.

now about issues i faced with the phone (serious ones)

the network just keeps dropping randomly.

phone keeps switching to offline mode and back to online mode by itself.

unmounting sd card and then remounting it freezes the phone. (requires restart by removing battery)

connecting to pc in mass storage and then disconnecting freezes the phone. (requires restart by removing battery.)

about fk service.. excellent as always..
they were also kind enough to take back the faulty piece.. :)

I HAVE PURCHASED THIS A-18 KARBONN MOBILE IN SEPTEMBER 2012.The battery power decreases automatically without using the mobile also.I THINK THIS MAY BE THE OLD BATTERY OR PHONE CONSUMES MORE POWER.I have to charge the battery everyday 4 to 6 hrs.In local area means it is okay then what about far away from home about 2-3 days?

I bought Karbonn A18 at Poorvika Mobiles, Adyar - Chennai on September 22nd. Within 7 days the touch screen wasn't working and I gave to Authorised service centre - PMW cares, TNagar, Chennai. This is the third week and it is not yet fixed. They give reasons stating that they are yet to receive spares from the company. I was really impressed the mobile and wrote positive reviews for it in many online portals including flipkart. Now I am very disappointed by their service and attitude.

I'm not saying that this will happen to everyone. But the probability is very high. When you are buying a cheap mobile be ready to face issues like this. And if this is a scenario in metro city, then imagine then the situation in towns and rural areas.

I already sent a mail to karbonn but didnt get any response till now. My Kind advice don't buy this mobile. Buy a branded phone like Nokia, samsung or Sony... esp if you are planning to use the mobile for one/two years.
