Karbonn A21

I am using this phone for 10 days now. There are many good things which people have mentioned so time for some real things.

1. The processor although "dual-core" is very sluggish. You install a live wallpaper and the phone starts to lag.

2. Cellular signals are not very strong and they keep coming and going.

3. Phone charging is fast but discharge even faster. Currently I need to charge the phone twice a day if I am using data connection/wi-fi for around an hour.

4. The charger pin is hard to remove and if you try to force it out, the plastic back also comes out along with it. The back does not fits completely and there is considerable gap in the sides.

5. If you are using your apps in USB mode the touch starts to act funny(maybe only in my case). You touch somewhere and the response comes somewhere else. You try to open one app but another one opens up.

6. The front camera although is 1.3 MP but the output is very sluggish.

7. The rear camera is good but if you try to take a panorama shot, the image is blur and jumbled.

8. The phone is not playing any video which is above 20 mb in size. I tried playing the videos through MX player but they just do not run.

9. RAM is 512 mb however the phone is not running any HD game.

So, make a informed decision.

I have gone for this phone because of its features and its price advantage. One month back I bought Sony Xperia P for one of my family members. After spending Rs.23,000, it still gets stuck while opening the Gallery and the Maps. Every time I need to restart the phone to get the Gallery open. If the performance of a phone of Rs.23000 itself is like this, then I thought that, nothing is wrong in buying a phone with better features at lowest price. So I decided to buy Karbonn A21 for myself.
I got my Karbonn A21 through Flipkart yesterday. Let me review about the Pros and Cons of this phone by comparing with our Sony Xperia P.
Pros:
• Wide Screen display of 4.5” against 4” in Xperia P
• Slimmer than Xperia P
• 1.2 GHz Dual core processor against 1 GHz Dual core
• Internet connection through Wifi Direct is faster than Xperia P
• 12 Hrs continuous battery life while browsing against 5 Hrs in Xperia
• Phone comes with scratch guard film fixed and one additional film in the box
• Dual GSM sim card facility against single GSM sim
• Equally good touch screen display and graphics
• Camera quality is equally good although it is 5 MPix
• Lesser SAR value than Xperia P
• 1.3 MP Secondary camera against 0.3 MP in Xperia P
• Normal Sims against Micro Sim in Xperia.
• Battery can be removed, against inbuilt in Xperia P
Cons:
• Weight of 130 Gms against 120 Gms
• Back Cover looks flimsy
• Even though screen display can be compared with xperia P, touch response of A21 has a lag of fraction of seconds.
• Charger adopter slot in the phone is very tight
• No HD video calling
• 3D sweep panorama in camera not available
• Although face detection is available, smile detection is not available
General Satisfaction level:
“ All is Well” in both these phones, Except “Price and Fame!”

I started using Android mobile with the Motorola Fire Xt (Rs. 10000 at that time) and after that I upgraded to Motorola Defy plus (Rs. 16000 in the month of May 2012). Defy was pretty good but the size is only 3.7 inch and Processor is only 1GH. Because of this I was not totally satisfied with the size and the speed. Found sometime lagging when running multiple applications. So I was looking for faster and the bigger phone. I thought of going for Motorola Atrix 2 but after a long research and reding lots of reviews, finally I bought Karbonn A21 from flipkart (Delivered after 3 days on 4th day) and I found it very good as per my need. Let me share some of my experienc with this phone. I WON'T GO IN TECHNICAL TERMS.
PROS:
1. Big Size,
2. Excellent display quality.
3. Very very fast in internet browsing (faster than Motorola Defy plus as per my experience). I am using Airtel postpaid 3G service.
4. Battery 1800 mAh (Most of the compatible mobile you will find only 1600 to 1750 mAh)
5. Voice Quality is very clear
6. Viedeo Quality is very good
7. Camera is good not excelent. We can't expect much from 5 mega pixel camera.
8. Comes with the screenguard with the box.
9. Handset look is very good with the white colour.
10. Till now no lagging when using more than one applications
11. Dual sim
12. No network problem on both the sims
CONS:
1. Volume speaker is not so loud but I don't have any problem as I don't use loud speaker (while talking).
2. If you are far away from the from you may not hear the sound but most of the us are always with phone. So you won't have any problem about the low volume.
3. Takes long time to fully charged.
4. The most upset part is the music quality. If Karbonn would have made the music quality a little better then it would have been a perfect mobile. But don't worry you can make it a little better by downloading or buying an EQUILIZER from android market and also by using a nice quality earphone like Clarity Earphones > iBall-252. Before you buy the earphone do a test and check which one is better (Good Bass quality). Not all the earphone works on any mobile.
5. RAM size is

I Received this Mobile Yesterday. i could not wait for the reviews as the specs of this PHABLET were awesome to say the least for the price i paid. most of the websites contain wrong information about its specs. EVERYTHING ELSE @ a terrific price. Display is awesome. i am happy with this purchase. it has 3 GB internal memory.

Cons: RAM about 400 MB (Plz dont crib its not so slow)
loudspeaker is not loud
charging consumes of time (Bigger battery)
scratch prone but its the case with every phablet.
back panel is glossy, slippery.
Pros: Amazing display
1.2 dual core processor (very fast)
good battery
internet access is quite fast
very fluid & responsive UI
looks like a phablet that cost 25-30 K.
Its got very good SAR VALUE 0.437

its just the second day but honesty satisfied with it. guys who crave for more can go for samsung, LG, SONY, MOTOROLA, HTC. i made my choice between MMX 110, A90 not saying these were bad phones but a90+ has not been launched yet & i had been waiting for 2 months. before making a purchase of these chinese phones please also consider the after sales service aspect its equally important make sure its in your area or not so far from where u stay.

6)Amazing battery, easily went for 48 hours with fair bit of gaming(temple run, angry birds), and casual internet browsing
on wifi

CONS
1) No IPS, Viewing angles are not that great
2) no gorilla glass for protection.
3) no conformity of jelly bean (android 4.1)
4) 512MB ram should have been atleast 1 gb instead.

but overall this device which has ample potential with amazing prize point. all the devices with these specifications are more than double the prize. thumbs up to KARBONN!!!
