Im using this Handset for past 11 Months and it has withstood the daily bumps and falls with only a few scratches and surprisingly no dents , on the Corners of the Handset , I dont know what they call it , its surprisingly better than Samsung Galaxy Grand duos , the strip on myfriends Galaxy Grand has peeled off almost 80% but its perfectly intact on my handset!!!! Next is the Hardware , S1 titanium comes with Qualcomm 200 Series Snapdragon Processor clocked at 1.2 GHZ , Adreno 203 and 1 GB Ram which is more than Adequate for Multi tasking , Casual Games like Angry birds , Temple Run , Subway Surfers run with absolutely Zero Lag and even Temple Run Oz runs perfectly with no noticable Drop in frames , NFS Most Wanted , Asphalt 8 has a few drops in frames but its understandable for a Budget Quad Core !!!! Rear Snapper at 5 MP isnt bad but the front Cam is Pathetic , For users who wanna use for Video Calling , u will be in for a Disappointment !!!! Call Quality is pretty decent even inside Lifts!!!! Ram Management is neat and users can clear ram without the help of a Ram App !!!! Side Scrolling and Web Page rendering is also neat!! Only major drawback is the Battery of only 1600 MAH , Karbonn could have fitted it with atleast a 2000 MAH Battery , on full blast with wifi , Battery drains out in 4 hours , Gaming will drain the battery in 2 hours flat as Games like NFS Most wanted will increase the battery temp up to 43 degrees from a basic standpoint of 34 degrees!!!! Installing an App like Du battery saver pro gives extra Juice on Standyby Mode or if you are just using ur Mobile for Calling or texting!!!! Hope u found my review useful!!!!
Bought in June 2012, performed well till Feb 2014.
Now one by one the issues started coming.
Ringer not working, phone performing slowly.
Battery was always an issue, also the internal memory was but can save apps in external memory which helped a lot.
Camera is good & front just works for name sake.
Overall she did well for the price I bought.
lets see if the service centre does its job or not.
Not worth it.. dint meet my expectation, Recently bought a canvas A116 i which way beyond my expectations.
Battery would last for 4 hours under heavy usage and under Normal usage 6-8 Hours
Would hang once in a day so be prepared for it.
Lags and Non responsiveness is quite a common trait noticed so can complain
Earphone volume is quite low for good music
Brightness is quite low so need to pull it up and would cost you the battery life.
No PC suite is found so need to rely on any one for sake of transferring songs
No OS updgade or support from Karbon manufactures as their website is still under construction
Not recommend... 1 stars out of 5
I had a really heavy budget constrain which made me purchase this model after doing some research in flipkart itself. Initially after reading many negative reviews I hesitated, but as I said I had a very tight budget and so i didn't had any other option. After purchasing and using it for nearly a month, I don't regret buying this!!!!!
Coming straight to the point, titanium S1 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon quad core processor which is the beast dominating current mobile market!! No other smart phone company I know of can even give snapdragon DUAL CORE processor at such a price!!! This is the biggest plus point to the set. Quad core machine gives a huge performance surge in parallel computing over dual core or single core and hence the phone is excellent for multitasking and till now I have minimised temple run, opened play store and facebook , chatted in whatsapp and downloaded songs and videos simultaneously without any hitch!!! Along with it comes 1GB RAM which is a huge added advantage for multitasking...
Though they give 4GB internal memory you get only 1.4GB memory which is just enough for storing all apps... The volume control button is given on the right hand side and is long enough for comfortable use and is very comfortable... Coming to the screen, 4.4 inch qHD capacitive touch screen looks amazing and neither too long nor too short for your hands. You can run your finger all over the screen without having to use your other hand. this is something you won't find in a 5 inch display... These are some pros about the set...
Coming to the cons.... As you know smart phones though fantastic to use comes very heavy on batteries and titanium s1 has 1600 mAh battery which is simply hopeless... Comes less than 4 hours under constant heavy use... The lock button is situated at the top most right side which is truly irritating when soft buttons are given at the bottom... You definitely need a support if you run your finger from lock button to soft buttons... The looks of the set is not that attractive since its in rectangular shape and it digs in your hand while using it cos the corners are not blunt as in galaxy grand... coming to camera, though they say it is 5MP, it hardly lokks like its 3.2MP... Front cam is totally hopeless cos it is digital cam... Speakers are average but 3.5mm headphone jack is extremely good even for an average headphone...
Hi, I got this from a local retailer. The main reason I went for this was I wanted a android strictly to play around with. My main phone is a Samsung Omnia W, a solid fast WP7 device.
I went for this S1 titanium because of Quad Core CPU, 1GB RAM and Android 4.1.2. I have been using this for almost one month as secondary device. The android experience is smooth and apps work fine. The touch is finicky though. Sometimes the touch response goes dead, so I have to use the unlock button to lock/unlock button and this gets the touch back to life.
The phone heats up at top during calls. This was observed while being on 3G networks, on 2G networks the phone stays cool. The battery heats up while charging. Might explode one day, so better keep is in good place where there's nothing else to catch fire! :D
The audio out of both speakers and audio jack is weak. Don't think it'll be audible if you are in a local train or in traffic. The screen quality is average! Somewhere I saw the screen mentioned as IPS. Trust me, I have seen IPS screens and they are way better than this. Thankfully this screen can get really bright. So good for watching videos etc.
3G speed is fine, network signal looks OK, it doesn't drop network or something. I have been using this to download lot of stuff and am getting good speeds overall. The minimum brightness of the screen is quite a bit high, so if you think of using this for bedtime chatting etc, make sure to have a night lamp on or else the bright screen will strain your eyes.
The handset is harsh in hands, the edges dig into palm and makes it wearing to hold and operate single handed. Add to that the older four key arrangement at the bottom, makes this a difficult to handle and operate phone. Though two-hand operation is fine. Also in white version, the bottom strip leaks light. Makes it feel cheap.
So I will wind this up. It's become a really long review. So yeah if you are feeling really adventurous and if this phone bricks/ dies and you can bear the loss then go ahead with this( only if you are getting a really good deal - I got mine for 7.5K while this was selling on flipkart for 9K).
For everybody else steer well clear of this, since if by god anything die in this, there are lot of Karbonn Tech Support horror stories circulating on the net.
I bought this phone from Reliance Digital Shop. as a surprise gift from my dad *__*. I usually use this phone for 3G, Skype VOiP, skype Video calling, watching videos in free time, songs and sometimes casual gaming, i am using this phone since last 1 month, it is equipped with android 4.1 software, camera is decent with 5.0 Mpx, it has decent ram for normal users, didnt faced any problems yet except sometimes it hangs and re-starts by itself, but it only happens when you do a lot of tuff on it at a same time, although i am in love with my Titanium-S1 ♥♥. Economy class people should go for it. and for other reviewrs i have to say, if you are expecting performance like Samsung Galaxy note-2 or Xperia, why dafaq you buy karbon ?, its a economy class phone pals and it is good at its own state.
first- Excellent delivery by flipkart. Got the phone in just 3 days.Well packed. Thankyou Flipkart.
*It comes with a large 4.5 inch qhd display. It's quite handy.
*It has whooping 1gb ram.The phone never hangs!!!!!!.I had minimized a game , was using fb then also i was able to take up a call without any lag.
*1.2ghz quadcore. No phone in this price provides a quad core. Moreover it is powered by qualcom snapdragon processor(the best processor manufacturer). I easily played asphalt 7 on it(1.48 gb game) and Shadow Gun(1.98 gb game). Medium level games such as "temple run, subway surfers etc" run like butter.
*Adreno 205 gpu for best gaming.
*A great 5 m.p camera with a strong flashlight
*The battery life is average. Also it takes a lot of time to charge full.
